    • A locomotive brake controller that has a body configured to interconnect to a desktop location in the cab of a locomotive and a mount that can attach the base of the controller to a vertical stand in the cab of a locomotive. The controller also includes an operator interface adaptor that can be clocked relative to the body and an operator face plate that can be clocked relative to the mount depending on the location of installation to ensure proper tilting of the interface relative to the operator and proper orientation of the operator display. Alternatively, the adaptor may include a fixed face plate that includes a moveable display and an adhesive membrane with operator buttons to properly orient the display.

    • A vehicle brake system includes a source of fluid pressure adapted to supply a braking force a brake actuator including a parking brake chamber, and a combination valve fluidly coupling the brake actuator to the source of pressure, the combination valve having an inlet fluidly coupled to the source of pressure and an outlet fluidly coupled to the brake actuator. The combination valve includes within a single housing (i) a solenoid responsive to electrical signals to move from one position in which the parking brake chamber is fluidly coupled to the source of pressure in order to pressurize the parking brake chamber and release the parking brake, and another position in which the parking brake chamber of the brake actuator is vented in order to exhaust pressure within the parking brake chamber so that the parking brake is applied, and (ii) at least one of a manifold, an inversion valve, a double check valve and an anti-compounding valve.

    • A relay valve device having a first control surface and a second control surface. A shut-off device is located in the line feeding the control pressure into the second control surface throughout the period in which a signal pressure is present, and connecting the second control surface to atmosphere at other times. Thus, the relay valve device releases a greater pressure into a load circuit when actuated during effectiveness of the signal pressure than while the signal pressure is not effective. The shut-off device having a pressure relief valve with a switch-off device so that when the signal pressure is effective, the switch-off device switches OFF the pressure relief function of the pressure relief valve and so that when the signal pressure is not effective, the pressure relief valve is opened as long as the control pressure remains below the relief pressure and is closed when the control pressure moves above the relief pressure.
