    • Arrangement for a vehicle (2) for carrying a load (10) on the roof (1) of the vehicle, comprising a carrier (9) which can be moved between a "transporting position" (A) in which the carrier (9) is disposed on the roof (1) of the vehicle and a "loading and unloading position" (B) in which position (B) the carrier (9) is disposed at the side of the vehicle (2) to enable a load (10) to be loaded or unloaded onto or from the carrier (9) respectively, the carrier (9) being connected via a hinge arrangement (11) to a holder frame (6) mounted on the vehicle (2). The arrangement makes it possible to accomplish the movement of the carrier and the load simply and efficiently between the said "transporting position" and the "loading and unloading position". The hinge arrangement (11) is formed by a pivot arm arrangement (12) which is pivotably mounted on the holder frame (7) via one section (12B) by means of a primary bearing (14), and is pivotably mounted on the carrier (9) via another section (12A) by means of a secondary bearing (13) in such a way that the said secondary bearing (13) is located on one side of an imaginery line (22) which extends through the primary bearing (14) in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle when the carrier (9) has been moved into the said "transporting position" (A), and the said "loading and unloading position" (B) is located on the other side of the said line (22).
