摘要： A system manufactures molded fatty acid based material products by forming a fatty acid based material paste and injecting the paste into a mold having internal cavities. The system includes a controller that regulates heat generated by a movable member in the barrel of an injection molding machine and a cooling jacket on the exterior of the barrel to enable nearly melted fatty acid material and nearly solid melted fatty acid material to mix within the barrel to form a paste that is ejected into a mold to form the products. The paste enables the products to form a skin that is less susceptible to shrinkage during cooling so the product is formed without voids that cause breakage or mar aesthetic appearances of the product.

The solid ink paste can be formed by mixing liquid ink and solid ink in a barrel of an injection molding machine. The liquid ink is formed by melting solid ink particulates in the barrel with a heated conveyor and the solid ink particulates are maintained in a solid phase by cooling a portion of the barrel. Movement produced by the heated conveyor mixes the liquid ink and the solid ink in an area between the cooled portion of the barrel and the heated conveyor.

摘要： A method of improving energy consumption and/or melt quality of injection molding or extrusion machine can include controlling energy input to the melt from screw drive and heat sources. One or more sensors can measure a present value of at least one process parameter associated with the melt. A control algorithm can compare the present value of melt with a set value. If the present value deviates from the set value by more than a predetermined amount, the set value of at least one operating parameter can be adjusted. The algorithm can determine energy transferred to melt material from thermal and mechanical sources, and adjust set values to optimize energy consumption. Process parameters can include melt temperature, melt quality characterized value, prospective throughput or injection cycle time, or prospective energy consumption value. Operating parameters can include barrel heating temperature, screw rotational speed, screw plasticizing back pressure, screw injection speed or screw injection pressure.

The machine uses heat sources located along the barrel to heat the source material while an auger screw transports the source material in the barrel. This transport step does not shear the source material, nor does it use friction to produce the heat necessary to melt the source material. The material becomes substantially liquid or melted during the heating process, and the melted material is forced, by the auger screw, into a chamber whereupon a plunger, situated concentrically with the auger screw, injects the material from the chamber into a mold. Sensors located along the barrel and in the chamber ensure consistency between mold cycles. The controller dynamically adjusts the injection molding process to achieve more consistent and reliable molded parts.

摘要： An injection molding machine capable of appropriately adjusting a control condition for a reverse rotation of a screw and a method for adjusting the control condition. Molding is repeated with an amount of a reverse rotation of the screw performed after completion of metering and before injection to be varied in each molding cycle. In injection, resin flows backward until a check valve becomes closed. A peak value of a rotational force causing reverse rotation of the screw by the back flow of resin and other physical amounts are detected as indices of resin back-flow amount. An evaluation value of the control condition is obtained by inputting the indices of resin back-flow amount, metering time, etc. into an evaluation function. The value of screw reverse rotation amount with which the highest evaluation value is obtained is set for the screw reverse rotation.
