    • Um die beim Walzen von Flachprodukten geforderte Oberflächengenauigkeit bzw. -güte zu erzielen, ist eine Führung der Arbeitswalzen im Walzspalt auf besonderen Bahnkurven erforderlich. Hierzu werden bei den üblicherweise angetriebenen Arbeitswalzen Führungsstücke verwendet. Die Konstruktion für die Walzenantriebe ist sehr aufwendig und die Elemente für die Walzspaltverstellung hohem Verschleiß unterworfen. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, mit einfachen konstruktiven Mitteln die Führung der Arbeitsrollen im Walzspalt so zu gestalten, daß Verschleiß weitgehend vermieden wird.
      Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß in einem Walzgerüst nicht angetriebene Arbeitswalzen (5) in angetriebenen Stützkörpern (4,4a,4b) radial beweglich gelagert sind und mit diesen umlaufen. Dadurch vereinfacht sich die Konstruktion wesentlich. Sie stützen sich auf Zwischenringen (6) ab, die exzentrisch auf Achsen (7) gelagert sind. Durch ein Verdrehen dieser Achsen (7) mittels Kulissen (16), Führungsrollen (14) und Hebeln (15) wird eine weitgehend verschleißfreie Walzspaltverstellung erreicht.
      Walzgerüste entsprechend dem Erfindung werden vorteilhaft für die Herstellung von allen Arten von Flachprodukten (3) mit hohen Oberflächenanforderungen eingesetzt.

    • A major deformation machine having two working roller systems with parallel axes, for example a planetary mill, is used for rolling ingots into metal strip. An ingot is forced into this major deformation machine by means of a conveyor mechanism. As the trailing end of the ingot nears the major deformation machine the conveyor mechanism is stopped and the spacing between the axes of the working roller systems is reduced by means of an adjusting mechanism, in order to roll the part of the work in the roller contact section of the machine until separation takes place. The so-separated rear end section of the ingot is then drawn back out of the machine. These operations can be controlled automatically by a control device including a detector operable by the end of the ingot approaching the major deformation machine.
