    • An in vivo medical system where various functions of a body-insertable device can be reliably turned on and off and the state of on and off is stably maintained. The in vivo medical system has a capsule endoscope (2) and a magnetic-field generation section. The capsule endoscope (2) has a magnetic sensor having directivity and detecting a magnetic field, an observation member for observing the inside of a subject (1) while lighting and imaging the inside, a switch control section for controlling turning on and off of the observation member when the magnetic sensor (3) detects a magnetic field, and a transmission member for transmitting information including the observation image to the outside of the subject (1). The magnetic-field generation device has a magnetic-field generation section (4) for applying a temporary magnetic field to the inside of the subject (1), an arm drive section (5) for changing the application direction of the magnetic field, and a control section (C) for performing, based on the result of signal reception at a viewer (6), both application control of the magnetic field by the magnetic-field generation section (4) and drive control of the arm drive section (5).
