摘要： An ice dispenser provides a storage bin in which ice cubes manufactured by an ice maker are stored until used. A powered agitator within the bin operates to move cubes to an exit end where they enter a lifting and metering drum. From the lifting and metering drum the ice cubes, in one embodiment, pass through an adjustable ice crusher which functions to crush the ice into particles the size of which can be changed by adjustment of the crusher. In one position, the crusher can be adjusted so that uncrushed cubes pass through the crusher. In a second embodiment, a deflector is provided to allow the ice cubes to bypass the crusher when uncrushed cubes are required. The deflector is moveable to a position to cause the cubes to pass through the crusher and for delivery of crushed ice. The lifting and metering drum operates at a lower speed than the agitator or crusher and is driven by gearing connecting the lifting and metering drum with the agitator. Similarly, the crusher is driven by gearing connecting the crusher with the agitator. Speed of the agitators is substantially greater than the speed of the lifting and metering drum.

摘要： A through-the-door ice and cold water dispenser for domestic refrigeration units provides a housing positioned within a recess formed in the door insulation. The dispenser provides an actuation cradle formed with a smoothly curved concave surface in combination with a switch operating system which requires low forces for operation so that the dispenser can be actuated by fragile containers, such as polystyrene foam cups. An insulated damper door is closed when the dispenser is not operating to prevent heat transfer into the freezer compartment where the ice is produced and stored. A heater positioned against the damper door operates to release the damper door should it become frozen in the closed position. All of the controls for the dispenser are located in the upper portion of the housing and are accessible with a minimum amount of disassembly when service or maintenance-is required. A spill tray is located in the bottom of the dispenser recess to contain and retain spilled water and melted ice water. The spill tray is easily removable for dumping.

摘要： A top gas burner control employs touch keypads to provide operator input signals to a microcomputer. The microcomputer controls reversible gear motor to operate gas burner valves, and the positions of the shafts of the valves are fed back to the microcomputer via decoders. The initial operation of a burner requires the operator to touch and ON keypad, in response to which the microcomputer rotates the shaft of the valve to a maximum open position and energizes an igniter at this position. The operator must the touch a further keypad within a predetermined time in order to prevent the microprocessor from closing the valve.

摘要： A double-pivot door hinge is disclosed that is particularly suited for household appliances such as refrigerators or microwave ovens. The hinge arrangement allows the appliance door to be opened a full 180 degrees from its closed position without coming into contact with a flush mounted wall such as an abutting kitchen cabinet. The hinge has a first pivot pin and a stop arrangement which allows a door to be swung outwardly until a 90-degree position is reached whereby the stop arrangement is engaged. Upon further outward movement, the assembly shifts to a second hinge pin until a 180-degree position is reached. The movement from the 90-degree position to a 180-degree position requires the overcoming of a spring force of the hinge arrangement.

摘要： A self-leveling leg assembly for use as the rear legs of a household appliance includes a pair of legs at each rear corner rigidly interconnected by a bar. Each leg carries a projecting pin which fits within a slot and a bracket at each corner, with the slots in both brackets sloping upwardly and outwardly toward the outer wall of the appliance. One of the brackets includes a horizontal slot connected to the top portion of the diagonal slot and positioned so that when the adjacent leg pin is moved from the diagonal slot into the horizontal slot and the other leg pin is at the bottom of its slot, movement of the other leg pin toward the top of its slot causes the one leg pin to move to the inner end of the horizontal slot. A spring-biased locking pin is positioned in the horizontal slot so that when the appliance is lifted off a shipping pallet with both legs in the retracted position, the other leg can fall to the bottom of its slot as the spring-biased locking pin pushes the one leg pin toward the end of the horizontal slot and allows it to drop into the diagonal slot. The locking pin remains in this position to prevent reentry of the pin from the diagonal slot portion into the horizontal slot portion, so that the legs remain in the extended position.

摘要： A low cost automatic ice cube maker of simplified construction for use in the freezer compartment of a domestic refrigerator. The ice maker includes a one-piece, molded plastic bail or sensing arm for monitoring the level of ice cubes in an underlying storage bin. The movable bail includes a fingerlike resilient projection extending radially from one of the end portions of the bail. The distal end of the projection engages a portion of the ice maker fixed in position relative to the movable bail wherein the resilient projection functions as a springlike member biasing the bail toward a lowermost position. The ice maker also includes a pivotally mounted ice tray that can be easily snapped out of its ice making position for removal and cleaning at a location outside the freezer compartment. An externally accessible mechanism for actuating a test switch of the internal control circuit of the ice maker is provided to facilitate servicing of the ice maker.
