    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enteral feeding set for connection to an automatic pump system capable of alternatively and automatically selecting a fluid to be supplied to a patient from two supplies of fluid. SOLUTION: The enteral feeding set comprises: tubing adapted for fluid flow therethrough and further adapted to be engaged by a pump unit; a valve mechanism in direct communication with the tubing, the valve mechanism being adapted to be engaged by the pump unit; and a feeding set indicator for permitting identification of the functional configuration of the administration feeding set by the pump unit. The tubing comprises at least two inlet tubes on an upstream side of the valve mechanism and a single outlet tube on a downstream side thereof, wherein the inlet tubes each include a connector 10 for connecting the tube to a supply of fluid at a connection end thereof, and each of the connectors have the same form but are visually distinguishable for indicating to a user which supply of fluid each connector should be attached thereto.       SOLUTION: An electrosurgical return electrode comprises the return electrode pad including a patient contact surface configured for transmitting the electrosurgical energy; a sensor circuit connected to the return electrode pad; and a control circuit connecting the return electrode pad and the sensor circuit. The sensor circuit is configured for generating sensor data by monitoring at least one of the characteristics of the return electrode pad and characteristics of a tissue. The control circuit is configured for receiving and processing sensor data from the sensor circuit and for relaying the processed sensor data to an electrosurgical energy source.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forceps for sealing and/or cutting tissue by combination between a mechanical clamp pressure and electrosurgical energy. SOLUTION: An electrode assembly 205 includes a pair of opposing first jaw member 210 and second jaw member 220 having electrically conductive tissue sealing surfaces 212a, 212b, 222a and 222b, the first jaw member has an electrically conductive cutting element 227, and a cutting zone 228 is prescribed between the electrically conductive tissue sealing surfaces and the cutting element. In a sealing process, the cutting element and the electrically conductive tissue sealing surfaces on the first jaw member are applied with energy till a first potential, while the electrically conductive tissue sealing surfaces on the second jaw are applied with the energy till a potential different from the first potential to seal the tissue; and in a cutting process, the electrically conductive tissue sealing surfaces on the respective jaw members are applied with the energy till the potential different from the cutting element, thus constituting the electrode assembly which can cut the tissue.
