摘要： PURPOSE:To positively seal a portion between a pipe body of an inlet of an impeller and the impeller, by preventing the infiltration of liquids into the impeller by discharging the liquids penetrating to a void between a front shroud of the impeller and labyrinth packing. CONSTITUTION:When applying this device to a separating device for sucking scum on a surface of molten metal and for separating the scum from air currents sucked, a pipe body 4 continuously mounted to a bottom wall 16 of a negative pressure chamber 1 is immersed under the surface 6 of a liquid tank 5, and the pipe body 4 is faced to an inlet of an impeller 7 consisting of a plurality of vane bodies 10 at a location where the pipe body 4 is stretched. A ringed groove 19 and holes 21 are installed to a front shroud body 8a forming the impeller 7, and the ringed groove 19 is blocked by means of ringed portion material 8b to which a hole 20 is disposed. A sleeve 14, which one end outer surface is provided with a screw portion 14a, and labyrinth packing 15 consisting of a labyrinth ring 16 and a spacer 17, which are externally fitted to the sleeve alternately, are mounted between the pipe body 4 and the front shroud 8, thus obtaining seal action.
