摘要： Methods and compositions are disclosed for controlled addition of components that decrease the viscosity of the viscoelastic surfactant fluids or for controlled changes in the electrolyte concentration or composition of the viscoelastic surfactant fluids. One aspect of the invention relates to the use of internal breakers with a delayed activation. Another aspect of the invention relates to the use of precursors that release a breaking system such as alcohol by a process such as melting, slow dissolution, reaction with a compound present in the fluid or added to the fluid during or after the step of injecting, rupture of an encapsulating coating and de-adsorption of a breaking agent absorbed into solid particles. In another aspect of the invention, alcohols are included in a pad to reduce the low-shear viscosity and reduce the resistance to flow of the treatment fluids during a desired phase of the treatment.

摘要： Methods for controlling fluid flow through one or more pathways in one or more rock formations penetrated by a borehole in a subterranean well, comprise injecting into or adjacent to the formation a treatment fluid comprising at least one viscoelastic surfactant; fibers, or a mixture of fibers and particles; and one or more flocculation initiators. Flocculation of the mixture produces fibrous masses that migrate to formation-rock openings such as pores, cracks, fissures and vugs. As a result, the fibrous masses are useful for curing lost circulation, providing fluid-loss control and as diverting agents.

摘要： A method for treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore is carried out introducing a treatment fluid into the formation through the wellbore wherein the formation has a formation temperature of at least 70° C. A composition for such treatment is also provided. The composition and treatment fluid for the method is formed from water and an amount of fibers formed from high temperature polymers of at least one of a polyester, polyamide, polyurethane, polyurea polymers, and copolymers of these. Each of said high temperature polymers is characterized by the property of not substantially degrading in water at a pH of from 5 to 9 at temperatures below 80° C. A fiber degrading accelerant that facilitates degrading of the fibers at the formation temperature is also included in the treatment fluid.

Combined with the polymer solution is a solid boric acid or borate crosslinking agent and a solid metal oxide or metal hydroxide pH buffering agent that has limited solubility (less than 100 kg/m3 at 20° C.) within the polymer solution that provides the solution with a pH of from about 8 to about 11. The composition may be introduced into a subterranean formation through a wellbore that penetrates the formation. The composition may provide at least one of shortened shear recovery time and an increase in the thermal stability of the aqueous polymer solution.

The composition includes a viscoelastic surfactant fluid system (VES) and a decomposable first solid material, preferably in fiber form, that forms a pack or plug in the well at the location where fluid would otherwise leak off, and then decomposes without intervention to release a product that is a breaker for the surfactant or the micelles of the VES. The composition optionally also contains a pH control agent and a second solid (that may also be a fluid loss agent) that affect the decomposition of the first solid.

摘要： A material and method for treating a fractured formation penetrated by a wellbore includes providing a quantity of resin coated particles having a particle size of from about 0.2 mm to about 2.35 mm. A quantity of smaller deformable or non-deformable particles is combined with the resin coated particles to form a generally uniform consolidated particle pack when mixed together and subjected to at least one of heat and pressure. A slurry of the particles is formed with a carrier fluid capable of suspending the particles. The slurry of particles is introduced into the wellbore of the formation. The resin coated particles and smaller deformable particles thus may form a consolidated particle pack in at least a portion of the fractures of the formation.
