    • A well treatment composition is formed from an aqueous crosslinkable hydrated polymer solution. Combined with the polymer solution is a solid boric acid or borate crosslinking agent and a solid metal oxide or metal hydroxide pH buffering agent that has limited solubility (less than 100 kg/m3 at 20° C.) within the polymer solution that provides the solution with a pH of from about 8 to about 11. The composition may be introduced into a subterranean formation through a wellbore that penetrates the formation. The composition may provide at least one of shortened shear recovery time and an increase in the thermal stability of the aqueous polymer solution.

    • A composition and method is given for a well control fluid that is injected into a well during completion or remediation and prevents fluid flow from a formation into the well during operations (such as shut-in, or placement or adjustment of tools/hardware) when no fluid flow is desired. The composition includes a viscoelastic surfactant fluid system (VES) and a decomposable first solid material, preferably in fiber form, that forms a pack or plug in the well at the location where fluid would otherwise leak off, and then decomposes without intervention to release a product that is a breaker for the surfactant or the micelles of the VES. The composition optionally also contains a pH control agent and a second solid (that may also be a fluid loss agent) that affect the decomposition of the first solid.

    • A material and method for treating a fractured formation penetrated by a wellbore includes providing a quantity of resin coated particles having a particle size of from about 0.2 mm to about 2.35 mm. A quantity of smaller deformable or non-deformable particles is combined with the resin coated particles to form a generally uniform consolidated particle pack when mixed together and subjected to at least one of heat and pressure. A slurry of the particles is formed with a carrier fluid capable of suspending the particles. The slurry of particles is introduced into the wellbore of the formation. The resin coated particles and smaller deformable particles thus may form a consolidated particle pack in at least a portion of the fractures of the formation.
