摘要： A reel assembly for a gaming machine includes a reel structure adapted for rotat ion about a motor output shaft. A drive lever is adapted for connecting the output shaft t o the reel structure at a point radially spaced from the output shaft to provide a resilient, radiall y extending coupling between the output shaft and the reel structure. The drive lever is of sufficien t length to allow flexing thereof and is capable of storing energy at the start of rotation to cau se the reel structure to be suddenly rotated by the restored energy. The drive lever has a terminal en d mounted to said reel structure in a manner that prevents tangential movement of said terminal en d relative to said reel structure. Thus, the drive lever flexes when the output shaft starts to rot ate until the inertia of the reel structure is overcome, whereupon the drive lever returns to its init ial shape and causes rotation of the reel structure, thereby reducing the start-up torque and power r equired to overcome the inertia of the reel structure.

摘要： Club cards and tickets can be eliminated by providing an application that allows a player's mobile phone to process an image of an optical machine-readable representation of data. At the end of a wagering session on a WGM, the WGM can display a barcode representing a player's winnings, an achievement, game status, etc. The player takes a picture of the barcode with his or her mobile phone. The application on the phone processes the barcode image and automatically updates an account of the player in accordance with the data represented or carried by the barcode. For instance, the mobile phone sends a request to a wagering account server to electronically deposit the winnings, as represented by the barcode, in a wagering account associated with the player's club profile.

摘要： A releasable reel strip attachment assembly includes, in one embodiment, an attachment strip 60 with snap rivets that snaps through corresponding apertures 76 in a reel strip and into apertures 74 in a reel cage 72. The attachment strip 60 includes an adhesive layer protected by a release backing that is removed to expose the adhesive layer. The reel strip 68 is positioned over the reel cage so that the apertures 76 in the reel strip co-align with those of the reel cage, and the snap rivets are inserted through the aligned apertures to attach the reel strip to the reel cage in a reliable, precise, and consistent manner. The reel strip is wound round the reel cage and the free end of the reel strip is pressed onto the exposed adhesive layer of the attachment strip. In an alternative embodiment a recess in the reel cage has nubs engaged by apertures in a first end of the reel strip, adhesive layers attaching this end to the frame and the second end of the reel strip to the first end.
