    • A gas turbine engine including a compressor section, a combustor section including a combustor, a turbine section, a gaseous fuel supply conduit with an upstream section and a downstream section, a fuel booster, and a heat exchanger is provided. The fuel booster is located in the gaseous fuel supply conduit. The fuel booster has a driving expander with a driving fluid inlet and a driving fluid outlet for discharging expanded air and a fuel compressor with a low pressure fuel inlet connected to the upstream section of the gaseous fuel supply conduit and a high pressure fuel outlet connected to the downstream section of the gaseous fuel supply conduit. The heat exchanger is located between the driving fluid on the one side and the gaseous fuel on the other side so that a heat transfer between the air and the gaseous fuel is possible.

    • A gas turbine combustor is provided, which comprises: a combustion chamber having an axial direction and a radial direction; air passages for feeding an air stream into the combustion chamber which are oriented such that the flowing direction for each air stream flowing into the combustion chamber includes an angle with the combustion chamber's radial direction so as to introduce a swirl in the in-flowing air and an angle of at least 60° with the combustion chamber's axial direction; and fuel injection openings which are located in the air passages. Each air passage defines a turning flow path with a turning between 70° and 150° in a radial direction of the combustion chamber and a turning between 0° and 235° in an axial direction of the combustion chamber.

    • Novel synthesis routes for preparation of thiodigalactosides and intermediates are presented. The method includes the use of a 3-azido-galactosyl thiouronium salt derivative, which is activated to the corresponding thiol in situ, which in turn is directly reacted with a 3-azido-galactosyl bromide resulting in the 3,3′-di-azido-thio-di-galactoside before the thiol has a chance to reduce the azido 10 group. Hence, in situ formation of the 3-azido-galactosyl thiol from the thiouronium salt is essential in the synthesis procedure, because any other method that generate the thiol separately results in extensive unwanted azide reduction.
