    • It is disclosed a method of adjusting mobility management in a mobile communication network, said mobile communication network comprising a mobility control unit (4; 40; 320) adapted to track location of communication units (1; 10; 310) communicating in said mobile communication network and to control the mobility management for said communication units. Mobility information related to a communication unit is provided (S1) to said mobility control unit, which evaluates (S2) the degree of mobility of said communication unit from said mobility information related to said communication unit. On the basis of said evaluated degree of mobility, mobility management elements used for mobility management of said communication unit in said mobile communication network are correspondingly adjusted (S3). Furthermore, there are disclosed a corresponding mobility control unit, a corresponding communication unit as well as a corresponding mobility management adjustment system.

    • The present invention proposes a method for performing a relocation procedure for a user equipment (UE) communicating in a communication network and being movable therein, said communication network comprising at least two serving nodes (SGSN1, SGSN2) of a core network of said communication network, each of which serving nodes being connected to at least one access network controller (RNC1, RNC2) of a access network of said communication network, each of which access network controllers being adapted to perform a communication with said user equipment (UE) within its coverage area, and each serving node being assigned to a respective routing area (RA1, RA2), said method comprising the steps of monitoring (S100) the occurrence of a relocation condition, deciding (S200), whether said relocation condition is an inter serving node relocation condition, switching (S400) the communication from a first access network controller (RNC1) of a first serving node (SGSN1) to a second access network controller (RNC2) of a second serving node (SGSN2), when the decision in said decision step (S200) is positive; maintaining (S600) the control of communication in the core network anchored in the first serving node (SGSN1) while the communication connection is in a first state (S500); and changing (S700) the control of communication in the core network to the second serving node (SGSN2), when a changing condition is detected (S500). The present invention also proposes a corresponding system and network element.

    • Method and arrangement for intercepting a target mobile station in a GPRS network. A legal interception node is installed into the land-based portion of the radio network. An “intercepted” status is defined for mobile stations that are to be intercepted. In response to an order from a law-enforcement authority to intercept one of said mobile stations the status of such mobile station is changed to “intercepted” and at least some of the packets originating from such a mobile station or terminated thereto are routed and/or copied from at least one of the support nodes via the legal interception node to the law-enforcement authority.

    • An access point (GGSN) from a mobile communications system to an external system is selected (3) at a service node (SGSN) of the mobile communications system based on at least two or three grounds of selection: the subscription data of a mobile subscriber stored in the mobile communication system or an access point selection data given by a user in a service request (1), or on other grounds. The serving node sends to the access point (GGSN) selected a further service request (4) which includes indication of the grounds of the selection, i.e. whether the access point is selected by subscription, by a user, or based on any other grounds. Thereby the access point is able to distinguish and accept service requests in which the rights of the user are already assured by the subscription, without any security problems. When the request is based on the selection of the access point by the user, or on any other insecure grounds, the access point is able to make any further actions to ensure the security. These further actions may include rejection of the service request.
