    • Sidewalls of a flash opening formed in a front cover of a camera are processed with the same surface treatment as that of the front cover. A condenser plate is so fitted into the flash opening from a backside of the front cover that a part of the condenser plate is protrusive from and another part is retractive from an outer surface of the front cover. In a place where the condenser plate is retractive, a part of sidewalls are exposed outside. In wildest-angle photography, edges of a flashlight reflector containing a flash discharge tube are moved to a position between the outer surface and an inner surface of the front cover touching a top surface of the condenser plate. Thus, the camera with a zoom flash device is made thinner.

    • A front cover of a camera is constituted of two parts, namely a base member and a cover plate. The base member comprises a frame portion, a grip portion and a support portion. The frame portion is formed so as to surround side faces of a camera body. The support portion supports a part of the inside of the cover plate. A front face of the base member is adapted to be an opening except the grip portion and the support portion. The cover plate is attached to the base member so as to cover the opening. An overlapping portion of the cover plate and the base member is a little so that a thickness of the front cover is prevented from increasing.

    • Between communication equipment to be loaded in a vehicle and a base station, CDMA data communication is performed. A speed sensor detects a traveling speed. When the speed sensor crosses a speed determining value, a communication speed is changed. When the vehicle is at a halt or travels at a low speed, the communication speed is set to be high. When the traveling speed exceeds the speed determining value resulting from acceleration, the communication speed is decreased. Satisfactory communication is performed in the whole speed range, and data communication can be performed at the maximum speed. In order to change the communication speed, for example, a chip rate of PN code is changed. Also, the number of PN codes to which parallel processing is simultaneously applied is changed. Thus, it is possible to set the communication speed to be high even in a high-speed mobile object.

    • A camera has a camera body for being loaded with photo film. A feeder mechanism is incorporated in the camera body, includes a feeder motor and a take-up spool, for feeding the photo film.     • A dry battery having a relatively heavy weight and a main capacitor are held by a holder provided in a grip portion of a camera. Weight of the camera is biased toward the grip portion. When the photographer holds the grip portion, the whole of the camera is stably kept so that camera movement is almost prevented. Thus, when the photograph is taken in a state that the camera is held by a hand, camera movement blur is reduced. A location of the holder is more outer than a film cartridge chamber so that a size from the grip portion to a taking lens becomes larger. A finger holding the camera is prevented from being put on the taking lens. Thus, photographing is prevented from failing, although the whole size of the camera is small.

    • An information recording mechanism for recording information onto a film surface from the front side of the film provides a light emitter for emitting, as light, the information to be recorded on the film; a light emitter mounting substrate for mounting the light emitter thereon; an optical stop for narrowing the light emitted from the light emitter; and an optical member for causing the light narrowed by the optical stop to become incident on the film surface. The optical stop is integrally formed with the camera body part, while the light emitter mounting substrate and the optical member are directly attached to the camera body part without substantially generating positional shifts, thereby improving operability for assembling the camera.
