摘要： A distributed caching and redistribution system, method, and mobile client for caching and redistributing data content in a wireless data network. The system enables mobile clients to cache data content that has been distributed by means of broadcast or multicast, and to redistribute the content from the cache to other users. Using anycast techniques applied to the PLMN, a user who wants to retrieve data that was distributed earlier locates the nearest user that has the content available, and asks the nearest user to forward the content. The “nearest” user may be the closest user, but may also be the optimal user from a Quality of Service (QoS) point of view.

After a client receives content data from the broadcaster, a plurality of available proxy servers may be contacted for post-processing after the content data broadcast is determined. The client subsequently randomly selects one of the available proxy servers to contact for post-processing after the content data broadcast. The client may further randomly select a delay time within a contact interval for the selected proxy server, at which time the client contacts the selected proxy server at the delay time to initiate post-processing.

摘要： The invention provides a solution for performing multicast for streaming transmission in a telecommunication system. An intermediate node is proposed which is able to connect the functionality of a broadcast/multicast server and of a streaming node. Further the intermediate node is responsible for the establishment of a bearer for multicast transmission. The establishment of a session is done by means of a translation the on-demand single-use signalling into multi-user push signalling. Furthermore an adaptation of the streaming flow for a whole multicast group or for individual subgroups of a multicast group is performed.

A multimedia message is sent from an originator user device to an originator server and further to one or more recipient servers to which recipient user devices as addressed are associated to. The one or more recipient servers execute a multicast delivery for distributing the multimedia message to the recipient user devices and/or an improved reporting of a transmission state of the multimedia message by receiving status messages from the recipient user devices, each status message comprising an indication of an individual transmission state of the multi media message at one of the recipient user devices, aggregating the indications into a report representing the transmission state of the multimedia message, and sending the report to the originator server.

摘要： A packet radio data network has been disclosed, wherein the network comprise at least a gateway node (GGSN), at least one serving node (SGSN) coupled to the gateway node, a plurality of radio access nodes (RAN) coupled to the serving node (SGSN), the packet radio network transporting packet data from an external packet data network, comprising an Internet Service Provider (ISP), to mobile stations (MS) wirelessly attached to radio access nodes (RAN). A given mobile station (MS) issues a membership report message indicating that the mobile station wishes to receive content of a specific multicast group (1), whereupon the gateway node (GGSN) issues a multicast context activation message to the serving node (SGSN) (2). The serving node (SGSN) informs the radio access network (RAN) that the mobile station is joining the respective multicast group (3) and sends a multicast activation response to the gateway node (GGSN) (4).
