    • Techniques to detect for end of service using dynamic inactivity timer thresholds are described. An access terminal establishes a radio connection for one or more applications. Data and signaling for the application(s) may be sent on one or more first flows (e.g., RLP flows) that may carry any number of second flows (e.g., IP flows). The access terminal determines a dynamic inactivity timer threshold for each first flow, e.g., based on at least one inactivity timer threshold for at least one second flow mapped to that first flow. The access terminal determines whether each first flow is inactive based on the inactivity timer threshold for that first flow, e.g., declares each first flow to be inactive if no activity is detected on that first flow for a period exceeding the inactivity timer threshold. The access terminal closes the radio connection when all first flow(s) are determined to be inactive.

    • Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media for management and arbitration of dedicated mobile communication resources for mobile applications are provided. Mobile applications can be given a priority level that establishes an importance with respect to one or more other mobile applications and at least one mobile resource. If competing applications attempt to access the mobile resource concurrently, access can be provided to an application having higher priority level. Furthermore, control of a resource can be taken away from an application having lower priority in order to affect control of such resource for a higher priority application. In one aspect, a privilege code of an application can be verified prior to establishing control of the resource for the application, to mitigate a likelihood of inappropriate transfer of resources. Accordingly, the subject disclosure provides for management of dedicated resources for a mobile processing environment to effect important device functions with minimum delay.

    • A method is performed by a device. The method includes determining whether the device is allowed to attach to an operator network based at least partially on whether all access point names in a minimum access point name list are enabled in the device. The device allows itself to attach to the operator network if it is determined that the device is allowed to attach to the operator network. The device prevents itself from attaching to the operator network if it is determined that the device is not allowed to attach to the operator network. The device can wirelessly receive a command to disable an access point name in the device. If an access point name on a detach access point name list is disabled, then the device detaches from the operator network and prevents itself from reattaching until an integrated circuit card in the device is removed and replaced.

    • A system and method of crawling at least one website comprising at least one URL includes maintaining a lookup structure comprising all of the URLs known to be on a website; calculating a hub score for each webpage of the website to be recrawled, wherein the hub score measures how likely the to be recrawled webpage includes links to fresh content published on the website; sorting all the to be recrawled pages by their hub scores; and crawling the to be recrawled pages in order from highest hub scores to lowest hub scores. The calculating comprises computing a first value equaling a percentage of a number of new relative URLs on the to be recrawled page; computing a second value equaling a percentage of a previous hub score of the to be recrawled page; and computing the hub score as a sum of the first and the second values.

    • Providing for call-specific signaling for call-setup on multiple wireless communication systems via a single wireless access network is described herein. By way of example, a communication context for a mobile device can be established on a first radio access network (RAN). Additionally, call-specific signaling for a wireless session to be conducted by the mobile device over a second RAN can be conducted over the first RAN. Such signaling can be done, for instance, in preparation for an application or wireless session not supported by the first RAN. In addition, upon identifying an invitation for such an application or wireless session involving the mobile device, the mobile device can be switched to the second RAN, while session bindings on the first RAN can be maintained, ported to the second RAN, or terminated. Accordingly, the subject disclosure can reduce signaling complexity while integrating services of diverse deployments of wireless networks.

    • Techniques to configure quality of service (QoS) and utilize radio resources for a call in a WLAN are described. In an aspect, a station ensures that an access point in the WLAN is suitable for receiving service prior to performing registration to receive services via the WLAN. In another aspect, the station first requests for radio resources for traffic flows, then requests for radio resources for signaling flows, and sends signaling as best effort traffic if radio resources are not granted for the signaling flows. In yet another aspect, the station aggregates QoS for multiple applications and requests for radio resources based on the aggregated QoS. In yet another aspect, the station releases extra radio resources corresponding to the difference between the QoS granted by the WLAN and the QoS proposed by a remote terminal for the call. In yet another aspect, the station requests for the same QoS or lower from a new access point during handoff.

    • Disclosed is a method of retrieving constant values. The method comprises compiling key-value pairs into a unified regular expression, evaluating the unified regular expression against a transformed input string to match a particular key and extracting the constant value associated with that particular key. The input string in transformed by linking different tags associated with each key-value pair in the unified regular expression into a single linked tag and linking the single linked tag to the input string. Additionally, the method provides for associating the constant value in each key-value pair with an un-fixed key (i.e., a unique regular expression) as opposed to a fixed key, so that different input strings can be matched to the same key.
