    • PURPOSE:To obtain ultrasonic wave information which is useful for an ultrasonic test of a structure of concrete, etc., and to improve the accuracy of the ultrasonic test by mounting a low-frequency damper material on a vibrator. CONSTITUTION:The probe is constituted by fixing a front plate 2 to the opening part of a metallic case 1 and also fixing the vibrator 3 on the front plate. Further, a plug 5 is connected to an ultrasonic testing device and electric pulses which are supplied from the testing device are supplied to the vibrator 3 and converted into ultrasonic pulses, which are transmitted, but a difference from a conventional probe is that the low-frequency damper material 4 is mounted on the reverse surface side of the vibrator 3. Then unnecessary low-frequency vibration of the vibrator 3 is absorbed by the low-frequency damper material 4, so complicate vibration never lasts for a long time, a sent wave and a received wave can be discriminated clearly, and ultrasonic wave information on a reception frequency, the amplitude of the received wave, etc., is obtained. Further, the frequency characteristics that the probe has can be made wide in band, and consequently performance which is applicable to an ultrasonic testing device with a variable frequency is provided.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of estimation for the propagation characteristics of ultrasonic wave in concrete and the compressive strength of the concrete by obtaining longitudinal-wave amplitude, longitudinal-wave sound speed, received frequency of longitudinal wave, transverse-wave amplitude, transverse-wave sound speed and received frequency of transverse wave of received ultrasonic wave pulses, and estimating the compressive strength based on said six kinds of the ultrasonic wave data. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic wave pulses are transmitted from a probe 2, transmitted through a contact medium 4, concrete 1 and a contact medium 5 and received with a probe 3 which is a receiver. The received wave is displayed on an oscilloscope 6. The positions of the probes 2 and 3, the transmitted frequency and the like are adjusted so that the amplitude of the transmitted pulse on the oscilloscope 6 becomes the maximum amplitude. Thus, the ultrasonic wave suitable for the quality of the concrete 1 can be transmitted. Propagating speeds, received frequencies and transmitted-pulse amplitudes are obtained for the longitudinal wave and the transverse waves, respectively. The compressive strength is estimated by using said six kinds of the ultrasonic wave data.
