摘要： An optical plate and a tiled display apparatus having the optical plate of the present invention include a base substrate and a Fresnel lens having a plurality of Fresnel patterns protruding toward the base substrate from a flat upper surface. The optical plate further comprises an anti-reflection layer, and a high-refraction layer having a refractive index higher than that of the anti-reflection layer. The optical plate comprises an adhesive layer disposed between the Fresnel lens and the base substrate to affix the Fresnel lens to the base substrate, and a spacer disposed between the Fresnel lens and the adhesive layer to maintain a distance between the Fresnel lens and the adhesive layer. The base substrate includes a first portion having a first thickness, a second portion having a second thickness thinner than the first thickness and a connecting portion disposed between the first and second portions.

摘要： In a backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display apparatus, a plurality of lamps disposed in a receiving space of the backlight assembly is spaced apart from each other by various intervals between the lamps depending upon positions at which the lamps are disposed. Each of the lamps may also have an external electrode having a different area from each other or due to the positions at which the lamps are disposed. Furthermore, each of the lamps may have a different amount of discharge gas injected thereinto due to the positions at which the lamps are disposed. Accordingly, the liquid crystal display apparatus may provide a uniform brightness, and prevent deterioration of display quality thereof.

The surface light source device includes a light source body and at least one discharge voltage applying part. The light source body includes a bottom plate; a top plate which is disposed over the bottom plate to form a flat receiving space between the bottom plate and the top plate, the flat receiving space receiving discharge gas; and at least one space-dividing wall which is disposed on the bottom plate and divides the flat receiving space into at least two discharge spaces. The discharge voltage applying part is disposed on an outer surface of the light source body and applies discharge voltage to the light source body.

The conductive lattice lines are formed on the buffer layer in a stripe shape to reflect and polarize incident light. The buffer layer protects the conductive lattice lines. The conductive lattice lines include a silver (Ag) layer or an aluminum (Al) layer. Therefore, the buffer layer protects the conductive lattice lines, so that the lifetime of the polarizing plate may be increased. Furthermore, the display quality of a display panel and a display device having the polarizing plate may be enhanced.

摘要： There is provided a method of boosting a local dimming signal. In the method, it is determined whether or not local dimming signals, which are applied for individually driving light source blocks per frame, satisfy boosting conditions. Then, a predetermined local dimming signal corresponding to at least one of the light source blocks is boosted to a reference luminance value when the local dimming signals continuously satisfy the boosting conditions, and the boosting luminance of the predetermined local dimming signal at the reference luminance value is gradually decreased after a light adaptation time of an observer's eye. When the luminance of light source blocks that are boosted is gradually decreased before the light adaptation time or luminance of light source blocks that will be boosted is gradually increased to the light adaptation time, power consumption required to boost the light source blocks may be decreased.
