    • An insertion automation apparatus for discs and booklets in disc packages has plural parallel belts for transporting containers through successive stations. A first station is adjacent the belts for unstacking containers. A second station is adjacent the belts for opening the containers. An inspection station adjacent the belts inspects the opened containers. A fourth station adjacent the belts partially inserts booklets in the open containers, has a booklet conveyor for unstacking and moving booklets and an insertion conveyor for partially inserting the booklets in booklet pockets of the containers. A fifth station adjacent the belts has a pusher for pushing booklets fully into the pockets. A sixth disc placement station adjacent the belts has a continuous looped disc carrier arranged transversely to the belts and plural outwardly spaced disc carrier heads facing outward from the looped disc carrier. Suction lifters are positioned adjacent one end of the looped disc carrier for engaging and lifting discs from a top of an active stack and pulling the discs onto the carrier heads. Second placement heads move vertically with respect to the carrier, engage the discs on the carrier heads and push the discs from the carrier heads to a disc holder in the package on the belts at the sixth station. A disc stack transfer is mounted at one side of the belt and extends longitudinally in the direction of the belts. A seventh position inspects the containers with the discs and booklets inserted therein. An eighth station has a closer for closing the disc containers, and a ninth station unloads the closed disc containers.

    • The new buckle is made of two pieces which work with laminated strap webbing or open weave strap webbing. Web engagements within the buckle prevent the web from sliding through in any direction, or allow the belting to move in only one direction. Bases of side extensions of the inner plate have locking lugs. Moveable rounded side portions of the outer plate have locking tabs which engage the lugs to prevent movement out or into the locking position. Locking and unlocking the buckle requires squeezing rounded sides together while pushing or pulling on the outer plate. Teeth extend inward from the outer locking plate. Angled through-holes in the lower plate receive the teeth and hold the locking teeth in engaged position when the buckle is locked. Locking teeth angularly mounted in recesses in the upper plate are deflected when the webbing strap is pulled in a tightening direction. The teeth in cooperation with the holes in the bottom plate prevent reverse movement of the webbing strap when the buckle parts are locked together.

    • A device for displaying multiple images in an animation-like manner is provided. The device includes an outer shell having a pair of opposed transparent lenticular surfaces and a pair of opposed side walls extending between opposed outer edges of the lenticular surfaces thereby forming a hollow rectangular cavity. The device also includes a generally rectangular slide insertable through an opening in the first end of the cavity. Interleaved images are positioned on the opposed faces of the slide. The device further includes a part for reciprocating the slide in the cavity thereby altering the appearance of the displayed image. The reciprocating part includes a detent slot formed in an interior region of each of the side walls of the outer shell and a corresponding pair of spring bar mounted detent tabs for engaging the detent slots. A spring bar is positioned generally parallel to the second end of the slide and dihedral spring leaves are positioned in a center of the spring bar. The spring bar and the spring leaves bias the slide away from the second end of the outer shell. A push bar extends from the first end of the slide through the opening. The push bar enables the slide to be reciprocated in the outer shell. Pushing the push bar against the force of the spring bar and spring leaves alters the appearance of the displayed image.

    • A sliding binocular body has two optical assemblies which slide on an intermediate plate to adjust for intraocular distance and which slide closed. Two shells are joined to form one assembly. Front and back contour plates cover the assembly. A field and eye lens holder slides into the box through the back plate. An eye piece is attached to the lens holder. Inward horizontal surfaces have inward extending rails, which engage outward facing grooves on the intermediate plate. The two shells are secured together and joined to the intermediate plate before mirrors are slid and clamped into place. The objective lenses are placed in position, and the contour plates are sealed in place. The eye lens and field lens are inserted in the holders before the holders are inserted in the assemblies. The assemblies hold and clamp mirrors against fixed reference surfaces. Objective lens holders formed in the assemblies permit vertical or horizontal adjustment of an objective lens before its fixing. The intermediate plate has vertical projections on opposite ends which fit into recesses in the inward surfaces of the assemblies to limit outward travel and to hold the assemblies in closed position. The contour cover plates have projections to trap, or transparent extensions to cover, graphic skins or advertising paper boards or wraps.
