    • Example method, apparatus, and computer program product embodiments are disclosed to improve user experience and security in sharing wireless network configurations. An embodiment comprises reading, by a guest wireless device, data from a machine readable medium, including accessing information, to enable the guest device to obtain credentials from an access rights server, to access an access point or network, based on the accessing information; transmitting by the guest device, a wireless message to the access rights server, requesting credentials to enable accessing the access point or network, the request including the accessing information addressing a storage partition in a database associated with the access rights server, the storage partition being accessible with the accessing information; and receiving by the guest device from the access rights server, the credentials to enable the guest device to gain access to the access point or network by using the credentials.

    • A method, apparatus, and computer program for controlling transmission power of a radio apparatus are provided. The method includes: determining, in a radio apparatus configured to support a cellular radio access technology in communication with a cellular counterpart apparatus and a short range radio access technology in communication with a short range counterpart apparatus, a maximum total transmit power of the radio apparatus; causing the radio apparatus to use a first transmit power level in transmission to the cellular counterpart apparatus; determining a remaining transmission power margin by computing a difference between the maximum total transmit power and the first transmit power level; and causing the radio apparatus to autonomously limit a second transmit power level to fall within the remaining transmission power margin and to use the second transmit power level in transmission to the short range counterpart apparatus.

    • A first device receives a request from a remote device to relinquish at least a portion of an existing reservation in a wireless communications network (e.g., a WiMedia network). The existing reservation is between the first device and a second device. Also, the existing reservation was initiated by the second device and includes a first allocation of resources of the wireless communications network. The first device forwards the request from the first device to the second device, and sends to the second device information indicating a current view of resource utilization in the wireless communications network. This view is from a perspective of the first device. Also, first device may receive a request from the second device for a second allocation of resources of the wireless communications network between the first device and the second device. Such a request may be based on the resource utilization information provided by the first device. Further, the first device may also send, to the second device, an acceptance of the request for the second allocation of resources. Based on this acceptance, the first and second device may communicate according to the second allocation of resources.

    • In a wireless communications network, data of a first data stream is transmitted during a first portion of a repeating time period, the first data stream with at least one remote device. Also control information is transmitted during a second portion of the repeating time period, the control information including an identifier of the first data stream. A predetermined time interval is observed in which the transmission of a second data stream to the at least one remote device using the reserved identifier is prohibited. This time interval follows termination of the first data stream. Also, when receiving such transmissions, the data stream is considered active until the identifier of the data stream is missing from the second portion of the repeating time period for at least a predetermined time interval.
