An apparatus includes a controller configured to: utilize a tree structure with more than one branch in the resource allocation of physical resource blocks, each branch including one or more legal starting positions for resource allocation. 摘要： The present invention relates to the IJL part of the UTRAN long term evolution (LTE) which is being specified in the 3GPP under the ReI. 8 Work Item, and also relates to resource allocation for non-data-associated control signals (such as ACK/NACK and CQI) transmitted with UL data on the PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel). Data-non associated signalling can be multiplexed with UL data by means of time division multiplexing (TDM). Included in the present invention is a method and apparatus for linkage between Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUSCH) Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) and amount of resources for control on PUSCH. According to certain embodiments of the present invention, a mechanism and/or formula are presented for scaling the amount of control resources (CQI, ACK/NACK), allowing for flexible adaption of the size of control region for controlling the quality of the control channel. This allows for the adaption of quality of UL signaling in order to meet target requirements.

摘要： A detect decision is made by non-coherently combining results from correlating a preamble (CAZAC) sequence with base/root sequences used in the cell and setting a detection threshold based on those combined results. Another threshold can be set based on coherently combining results from correlating the preamble sequence, in which case the detect decision is based on satisfying either one of the thresholds. Where the sequence repeats in the same preamble, the results that are combined are from correlating the first instance of the CAZAC sequence and from correlating the second instance of the CAZAC sequence. Where the sequence does not repeat, different segments of the CAZAC sequence, each less than the whole and not necessarily of the same length, are correlated for a partial correlation on each segment, then the segments are combined and used to set the detection threshold. Detection may be done in stages, adjusting the threshold after the first stage based on comparing the results of non-coherent and coherent combining.

摘要： Either a first transport format or a second transport format is selected to transmit information corresponding to an input symbol sequence. The transport formats fit information into a timeslot having a predetermined duration. Based upon the selected transport format, either the information is created from the input symbol sequence using the first transport format or is created from the input symbol sequence using the second transport format. Creating the information for transmission using the first transport format applies a spreading code to the input symbol sequence. The information for transmission is transmitted in a selected timeslot having the predetermined duration. Creating and transmitting the information using the first transport format causes the transmitted information to occupy a first frequency band. Creating and transmitting the information using the second transport format causes the transmitted information to occupy a second frequency band that partially overlaps the first frequency band.
