SOLUTION: In the heating furnace A composed of plural heating chambers 1-9 commonly providing a simple collecting gas duct 20 and providing a pressure control damper 11-19 to each, a part of plural heating chambers 1-9 is stopped and combustion gas is supplied to the remained operated heating chambers and materials to be heated in the operated heating chambers are heated to a prescribed temp. and the combustion exhaust gas after heating is exhausted from the operated heating chambers through the single collecting gas duct 20. In the operating method of the heating furnace, at least one of an inserting hole for the heating material and an ejecting hole for the heated material in the stopped heating chamber, is opened and at the same time, the opening degree of the pressure control damper in the stopped heating furnace is adjusted.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately and easily subject a titanium alloy material to heat treatment at the maximum temp. by measuring the temp. at a position in which the maximum temp. is attained in the vicinity of the titanium alloy material in a heating furnace and estimating the surface temp. of the titanium alloy material from the same measured temp. CONSTITUTION:A titanium alloy material B arranged in a heating furnace 1 is heated by a heater 11 and is subjected to heat treatment. At this time, a temp. measuring jig 2 constituted by fitting the upper face and lower face of a fire brick with thermocouples 4 and 5 is attached to the surface of the titanium alloy material B. A position in which the maximum temp. is attained in the vicinity of the titanium alloy material B is grasped, and the temp. at this position is measured at the rising temp. measuring part of the thermocouple 4 on the upper face. This measured temp. is inputted into a computer 10 via a transforming unit 6 and a displaying instrument 8, and according to this input the surface temp. of the titanium allay material B is estimated. Based on this estimated value and while the measured value of the thermocouple 5 is referred, the heater 11 is adjusted, and the heat treatment is controlled.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the erosion of a heat-resistant metallic protector and to prolong the service life of a gas-cooled skid even if heat insulating materials on the outermost side exfoliate by providing a spacing in which a secondary cooling gas passes to the outside of the skid body and mounting the heat resistant metallic protector thereto. CONSTITUTION:A skid button 2 for supporting a billet is welded to the air cooling type skid body 1 used in a heating furnace, etc., for the billet and a 1st heat insulating material 3 consisting of ceramic fibers or castable refractory material is wound on the outside thereof. The heat resistant metallic protector 11 is mounted via a spacer 9 to the outside thereof to provide a spacing 20 between said protector and the 1st heat insulating material 3; further, the 2nd heat insulating material 5 is wound on the outside of the protector 20. The skid cooled by passing the air for cooling in the cooling hole in the central part and the above-mentioned spacing. The heated air is used as the air for combustion to recover the sensible heat thereof. The protector 11 is cooled by the air for cooling passing the spacing 20 even in the event of the exfoliation or dislodgment of the 2nd heat insulating material and, therefore, the skid withstands long time service without being eroded.
