    • PURPOSE:To read accurately the bar code in a curved part or the bar code having a width wider than the region of the visual field, by moving a read sensor in a direction intersecting the bar code and storing temporarily electric signals obtained by reading the bar code plural times and synthesizing these electric signals. CONSTITUTION:The bar code of a label 11 on an article 11a is focused onto an image sensor 17 of a hand reader 18. The image of the bar code has the waveform shaped to a continuous signal through an analog amplifier 20 by a waveform shaping circuit 21 and is converted to a binary signal corresponding to white bars and black bars by a comparator 22. Pulses from a clock generator 24 are counted in a counter 25 while this binary signal is in the H level, and the count value is latched in a latch circuit 26 when the signal inversion from the H level to the L level is detected by an inversion detecting circuit 23, and the counter 25 is reset, and the value of the latch circuit 26 is stored in a mcirocomputer 27. Pulses of the clock generator 24 are counted again in the counter 25 until the signal inversion from the L level to the H level is detected by the circuit 23, and the count value is latched in the circuit 26 and is stored in the computer 27. Stored read data are synthesized to obtain read data of the whole of the bar code.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the blur on the window glass without fail regardless of the effect of the temperature, by detecting the difference between reflectivity of reflecting plate which is thermally joined with the glass and the reflectivity of the reflecting plate which is thermally insulated from the glass. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting plate 7a is attached to the glass 1 with a plate 8 having a good heat conductivity. Therefore when moisture is also attached to the reflecting plate 7a, the blur is yielded. At this time, the rate at which the light from a light emitting element 4 is dispersed becomes high, and the output of a light receiving element 3 is decreased. Since the other reflecting plate 7b is thermally insulated from the glass 1 by a plate 9 having good heat insulating property, the blur is not yielded. Therefore, the output of the light receiving element 5 maintains a constant value. When the output of the light receiving element 3 is decreased by a specified rate, the output of a comparator 10 is inserted, and the yielding of the blur can be detected. Thus the blur on the glass can be detected without fail, and the attachment to the glass an be readily accomplished.
