    • A shut off valve is provided for use in an aircraft lavatory system during maintenance sanitizing operations. The shut off valve includes an inlet passage in intermittent fluid communication with an outlet passage and a magnetic flapper body movable between a rest position and a seal position between said inlet passage and said outlet passage. The flapper body is moved by a magnetic actuator whereby upon placing said magnetic actuator within the proximity of the flapper body, the flapper body is moved from the rest position and, with the assistance of fluid flow within the valve, into the seal position, thus, preventing fluid communication between the inlet passage and the outlet passage.

    • A dynamic, efficient, and full-duplex wireless local network is presented. The local central station equipment is implemented by implementing a Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) technique on local inbound data and a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) technique on at least local outbound data. Conversely, each subscriber unit implements the TDMA technique on local outbound data and the FDMA technique on local inbound data. In so doing, wireless two-way communications can be established between the central station, subscriber units, and remote stations wherein the allocated carrier frequency band is fully utilized and the outbound data bandwidth can be dynamically adjusted to accommodate the bandwidth requirements of different communication applications.

    • A voltage regulating circuit has a clamp up circuit and a clamp down circuit operating in tandem. The clamp down circuit receives the unregulated voltage and an activation signal and in response thereto generates a first output signal at an output node in the event the unregulated voltage exceeds the first output signal. The clamp up circuit receives the unregulated voltage and an inverse of the activation signal and in response thereto generates a second output voltage at an output node in the event the unregulated voltage is below the second output voltage. The output node of the clamp down circuit is connected to the output node of the clamp up circuit. Thus, the output voltage is regulated to be between the first output voltage and the second output voltage.

    • A new and improved display control system which includes a logic arrangement for causing a displayed image indicative of a portion of a corresponding larger image to be displayed upon an input command from a user. A line control circuit responsive to user input commands enables the displayed image to be shifted visually from a current visualization position, up or down, row by row for line pan visualization of corresponding portions of the larger image. A pixel control circuit also responsive to user input command enables the displayed image to be shifted visually from a current visualization position right or left, column by column, for column pan visualization of corresponding portions of the larger image. The line control circuit and the pixel control circuit operate independently of one another or in combination with one another to achieve any desired panning effect.

    • An I/O interface controller is disclosed which can be programmed to interact with a variety of interface protocols. The host side and the peripheral side of the interface controller are independently programmable. All significant operations are performed in a single chip gate array. The gate array includes registers for establishing control with peripheral devices and for transferring data between peripheral devices and the host. An arithmetic logic unit is used for calculation and data manipulation while an I/O operation is occurring. A condition code multiplexer evaluates the contents of registers within the single chip and instructs the sequencer to perform various operations based on these results. Strobe signals from a peripheral device, indicating that valid data is ready to be transferred, are quickly acknowledged by virtue of an asynchronous signal path. The strobe signal is also processed so that it may correspond with the internal clock of the I/O interface. An asynchronous event driver and recognizer mechanism is also disclosed. This mechanism enable the I/O interface controller to drive the host side and the peripheral side interfaces simultaneously.
