    • An electronic odo/trip meter for automobiles has a display for displaying a travel distance, a counter for enumerating the travel distance data, a non-volatile memory which is provided in the counter so as to prevent elimination of the travel distance data, and a control circuit which controls data transfer and includes a first detection circuit for detecting voltage-drop of a power supply and a second detection circuit for detecting resumption of the power supply. In the device according to the invention, the travel distance data of the counter can be stored in the non-volatile memory only when the first detection circuit detects a drop in the power supply, and the travel distance data of the non-volatile memory can be transferred into the counter only when the second detection circuit detects the resumption of the power supply.

    • A circuit and method for converting a digital input into an analog quantity are disclosed in which a resistance ladder having a 2.sup.n/2 number of resistors corresponding to n-bit number of bits of the digital input for equally dividing a predetermined voltage to generate the analog quantities, a first decode/switch circuit for retrieving from the resistance ladder a first analog quantity corresponding to a digital quantity which is larger by 1 than upper digits of the digital input, a second decode/switch circuit for retrieving from the resistance ladder a second analog quantity corresponding to a digital quantity of a two's complement of lower digits of the digital input and a differential amplification circuit, responsive to the first and second analog quantities, for shifting down the second analog quantity by a digit number corresponding to the lower digits, subtracting the shifted down second analog quantity from the first analog quantity, and outputting an analog quantity corresponding to the digital input are provided so that the digital-to-analog converting circuit, the construction of which is described above, can easily be assembled on a semiconductor substrate with the number of parts of the digital-to-analog converting circuit reduced.

    • A push-pull printer includes at least one tractor unit thus is formed to have both a pull function and a push function. Fork-like mounting portions are respectively formed at lower portions of a pair of frames provided at both ends of the tractor unit. A pair of tractor guides are located at each of push and pull feed positions of the printer body. Each guide detachably holds a corresponding fork-like mounting portion. When the tractor is to be used in the push type paper feed mode, the fork-like mounting portions are attached to the tractor guides located at the push feed position. However, for use in the pull type paper feed mode, the fork-like mounting portions are attached to the tractor guides located at the pull feed position. Two such tractors, one providing the pull function and the other the push function, can be used cooperatively.
