    • An apparatus and a method for motion adaptive de-interlacing with chroma up-sampling error remover are provided. Wherein, a motion detector determines moving pixels and static pixels in a target scan line. A first CUE remover and a second CUE remover remove the CUE of the target scan line in the previous field and the CUE of the adjacent scan lines in the current field, respectively. A de-interlace unit de-interlaces the adjacent scan lines to obtain a de-interlaced second scan line. A selector selects output data of the first CUE remover or the de-interlace unit as data of the target scan line according to a result of motion detection of the motion detector. A merging unit merges the adjacent scan line output by the second CUE remover and the target scan line output by the selector to output two scan lines of an output field.

The method includes computing an average luminance value of a digital image; generating a preliminary tone mapping function according to the average luminance value; generating a luminance statistic of the digital image; determining new remapped values for a plurality of skeleton luminance values according to the preliminary tone mapping function and the luminance statistic; generating a final tone mapping function according to the new remapped values and the plurality of skeleton luminance values; and remapping the digital image through the final tone mapping function. The present invention also discloses an apparatus performing the method.

    • A method of image processing and a device thereof are provided in the present invention. First, an image having a plurality of regions is received, wherein each region comprises a plurality of pixels. A contrast process is performed on each region and a respective local curve of each region is analyzed, wherein the local curve is a corresponding relation between the gray-level values of the pixels in each region before and after the contrast process. Next, the gray-level value of one of the pixels in a boundary between one of the regions and the neighboring region is adjusted according to the respective local curves of the one of the regions and the neighboring region. The local contrast process towards to each region is performed for enhancing the image. Therefore, not only can the features be obvious, but the non-uniform area in the boundary between the regions also can be smoothed.

    • A method for separating luminance and chrominance of a composite TV analog signal includes the steps of: measuring first differences between horizontal neighbor pixels, second differences between vertical neighbor pixels and third differences between temporal neighbor pixels encoded in the composite TV analog signal; comparing the first, second and third differences with one another to obtain a minimum difference used as a factor of a weighting function; and filtering the composite TV analog signal simultaneously by a two-dimensional (2D) comb filter and a three-dimensional (3D) comb filter according to the weighting function on the basis of the minimum difference to obtain a luminance signal and a chrominance signal, in which magnitudes of a part of the composite TV analog signal filtered by the 2D comb filter and magnitudes of the other part of the composite TV analog signal filtered by the 3D comb filter are determined by the weighting function.
