    • An apparatus generates display data on a display unit. An image constructing unit constructs an image of an image list including a plurality of images each corresponding to an image data file. A data output unit outputs first display data of the image list, and then, when a switching command is received from a user, outputs second display data of the image list in response to the switching command. A confirmation calculating unit calculates a degree of confirmation indicating whether a user confirmation is performed for each of the images in the image list. An image modifying unit modifies the images in the image list based on the degree of confirmation.

    • An image processing apparatus capable of automatically adjusting the enlargement ratio and the position of images and to display the noticed areas of all selected images is disclosed. When a two image display mode is selected, an image previously displayed (a first image) and an image to be displayed in the two image display mode (a second image) are loaded from a memory into a display controlling unit and a correction value calculating unit. The display controlling unit performs enlarging and moving operations with respect to the first image and the second image simultaneously. The correction value calculating unit searches for an area in the second image (a corrected area) most resembling an enlarged area in the first image so as to enlarge the corrected area in the second image. The images processed by the display controlling unit are transmitted to an image display memory.

    • High surface pressure is applied to the sliding surfaces such that local solid contact occurs on sliding interfaces. Microscopic wear occurs on the sliding surfaces. Carbon-based molecules 12, having rollable hollow structures, are included as separate molecules or aggregates of molecules in the lubricating film 11. The molecules 12 are exposed from the lubricating film 11 by the microscopic wear. A portion of the carbon-based molecules 12 is separated from the lubricating film 11, and supplied to the sliding surfaces. The carbon-based molecules 12 having rollable hollow structures function as ball bearings on the molecular level on the sliding interfaces. When at least one separated carbon-based molecule 12 exist between the sliding interfaces, local friction can be reduced in comparison to when separated carbon-based molecule 12 does not exist.

    • There is disclosed a photographic device that uses an image sensor and an electronic viewfinder. When a release button is pressed halfway, an aperture value, an electronic shutter speed and a photosensitivity are decided based on the present subject brightness to provide a proper exposure value for photographing a still image. So long as the release button is kept being pressed halfway, a timing generator drives the image sensor to shoot video images at a frame rate of 20 Hz, and the aperture value decided for still image photography is fixed, whereas the electronic shutter speed and the photosensitivity are adjusted according to the subject brightness by use of an aperture-priority type video program. When the release button is pressed to the full, an exposure for a still image is done with the fixed aperture value.

    • A digital camera automatically changes its imaging sensitivity based on a proper exposure value that is calculated at a predetermined standard imaging sensitivity based on subject brightness measured from a photometry area of a scene to shoot. When the decided imaging sensitivity is higher than a predetermined sensitivity threshold value, the scene is judged to be a low brightness backlit scene that contains a higher brightness portion around a dark main subject, and a lower brightness portion around the higher brightness portion. A rear light judgment value is calculated as a difference between a central photometric value and a peripheral photometric value of a photometry area, and is compared with a predetermined rear light threshold value, to judge whether the scene is backlit or not. When the scene is judged to be a backlit scene or a low brightness backlit scene, the digital camera emits a flash light synchronously with an exposure.
