    • An α+β-type titanium alloy which, has a high Young's modulus and strength-ductility balance is provided as a material for a face of a driver, iron, or other golf club.A titanium alloy having a high strength and high Young's modulus for a golf club face comprising, by mass %, 4.7 to 5.5% of Al, 0.5 to 1.4% of Fe, 0.03% or less of N, O which satisfies an [O] eq (oxygen equivalent value) of 0.25 to 0.34% calculated by formula (1), and a balance of Ti and unavoidable impurities. By adding Al, O, and N which cause solution strengthening of the α-phase and selecting the inexpensive Fe as the β-stabilizing element and suitably limiting the amounts of addition of these elements, it is possible to achieve a high strength and a high Young's modulus which satisfies the SLE rule without relying on cold working strengthening or aging strengthening heat treatment, and simultaneously obtain a large, good total elongation and a high strength-ductility balance.     • This invention provides a method for purifying HFO-1234yf by removing HF from a mixture of HFO-1234yf and HF under simple and economically advantageous conditions. According to the present invention, this is a purification method for 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, (1) the purification method comprising the step of subjecting a mixture comprising 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and hydrogen fluoride to extractive distillation in a distillation column A using an extractant, thereby obtaining a fraction I that contains 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and has a lower ratio of hydrogen fluoride to 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene than that of the mixture, while obtaining a fraction II that contains hydrogen fluoride and has a lower ratio of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene to hydrogen fluoride than that of the mixture; (2) the extractant comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of: (i) alcohols represented by ROH, wherein R is a C1-5 alkyl group, (ii) ethers represented by ROR′, wherein R and R′ are the same or different, and each is a C1-4 alkyl group, (iii) fluorinated alcohols represented by RfOH, wherein Rf is a C1-3 fluoroalkyl group, (iv) ketones represented by RCOR′, wherein R and R′ are the same or different, and each is a C1-4 alkyl group, (v) esters represented by RCOOR′, wherein R and R′ are the same or different, and each is a C1-4 alkyl group, (vi) polyols represented by R(OH)n, wherein R is a C1-4 alkyl group, and n is an integer of 2 to 3, and (vii) ethylene glycols represented by R1O(CH2CH2O)nR2, wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different, and each is hydrogen or a C1-4 alkyl group, and n is an integer of 1 to 3.

    • A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having an active area in which pixels are arranged in a matrix including first and second signal lines and connecting lines. The second signal lines and connecting lines extend in a column direction in the active area. The first signal lines extend in a row direction so as to cross the second signal lines and the connecting lines. The first signal lines are connected to the connecting lines through contact portions provided at the cross area where the first signal lines cross with the connecting lines interposing an insulating layer. The second signal lines and the connecting lines are pulled out from the active area to a signal supply source provided at outside of the active area without detouring in a peripheral region of the display panel.

    • A process for hydrogenating a conjugated diene polymer wherein a conjugated diene polymer is hydrogenated in the presence of a catalyst comprising a platinum group metal or its compound, and a basic compound. More specifically, (1) hydrogenation is conducted in a reaction system prepared by incorporating the catalyst and the basic compound in a solution or latex of the conjugated diene polymer; (2) hydrogenation is conducted in a reaction system prepared by incorporating a catalyst system comprising a combination of the catalyst with the basic compound, in a solution or latex of the conjugated diene polymer; or (3) hydrogenation is conducted in a reaction system prepared by incorporating the catalyst in a solution of a composition comprising the conjugated diene polymer and the basic compound. Thus, a hydrogenated conjugated diene polymer can be efficiently and industrially advantageously produced using a small amount of a catalyst.
