    • A base plate is formed having a pair of guide projections projecting in the thickness direction thereof and an auxiliary projection situated between the guide projections. An internal gear is provided on the inner surface of an offset portion that is formed on a movable arm. An external gear on a latch member is in mesh with the internal gear. The guide projections and the auxiliary projection are fitted in the offset portion. The latch member is interposed between the first and second guide projections so as to be slidable in the vertical direction. The latch member can be moved to be disengaged from the internal gear by means of a cam member that rotates integrally with an operating lever. The auxiliary projection is inserted in a hole in the latch member and arranged on a line connecting the end portions of the guide projections.

    • In a power window apparatus in which between a car power source and a ground, a first series circuit formed of a first switch and a first relay and a second series circuit formed of a second switch and a second relay are connected; when the first switch is operated, the first relay is energized, a motor is rotated in one direction due to switching of contacts of the first relay, and a window is raised; and when the second switch is operated, the second relay is energized, the motor is rotated in the other direction due to switching of contacts of the second relay, and the window is lowered, the first switch and the second switch each have one circuit with two contacts, and the fixed contacts which are switched when the first switch or the second switch is not operated are grounded.

    • An inlet tube leads exhaust gas from an automobile engine to an expansion chamber inside a muffler housing. Exhaust gas from the expansion chamber is discharged to the atmosphere via a first tail tube. A dead space chamber and volume chamber are disposed on either side of the expansion chamber in the housing, and a first internal tube connects the volume chamber and expansion chamber. A second internal tube having a valve which opens under pressure of the exhaust gas connects the volume chamber and dead space chamber. Exhaust gas from the dead space chamber is discharged to the atmosphere via a second tail tube. As the dead space chamber and volume chamber are not adjacent, pressure waves in the volume chamber do not cause a volume change of the dead space chamber, and emission noise from the second tail tube due to excitation of a resonance system comprising the dead space chamber, is reduced.

    • An apparatus for transferring toner images which is capable of executing optimum discharging control even where the environment, the material of the paper, and the kind of paper may be changed.First, the load current is detected when the transferring roller 11 is pressed to a transferring drum 6. The detected load current is converted to a characteristics detecting signal S6 at a signal converting section 109. An environment is selected on the basis of the characteristics detecting signal S6. Next, the load current flowing to the transferring roller 11 is detected when an AC discharger 14 is stopped. The detected load current is converted to characteristics detecting signal S6 at the signal converting section 109. A voltage control signal is selected based on the converted characteristics detecting signal S6, the environmental information, and the paper kind. A power source for discharging 22 is controlled by the selected voltage control signal so that the transferring becomes optimum.Accordingly, even if the kind of paper and environment is changed, optimum transferring and high transferring efficiency can be maintained.
