摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an iron powder sintered body in which problems in a conventional technology are advantageously solved, and an iron sintered body having high density of >=7.50 Mg/m3 can stably be produced. SOLUTION: A surface of a preheated die is adhered by charge with a lubricant. The die is filled with a heated iron powder mixture consisting of iron powder, graphite powder of 0.10 to 0.35 mass % and a lubricant for compacting of 0.05 to 0.40 mass % to the iron powder mixture and the mixture is compacted to form an iron compact. This compact is then sintered, gas carburized and quenched. In the gas carburizing and quenching treatment, the quenching heating temperature is preferably maintained to 800 to 950 deg.C, the carbon content in the atmospheric gas is 0.7 to 1.2%, and the holding time at the quenching heating temperature to 1,800 to 18,000 s.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high magnetic permeability without bringing a cost increase on deterioration of moldability upon an iron powder by specifying the strain quantity evaluated by the half-value width of an αFe (200) peak by X-ray diffraction to a specific value or below and the average crystal grains size to a specified value or above. SOLUTION: The strain quantity of the iron powder evaluated by the half- value width of the αFe (200) peak by the X-ray diffraction is =10 μm. The sponge iron of >=0.35 deg of the strain quantity evaluated by the half-value width of the αFe (200) peak by the X-ray diffraction is adequately used as feed sponge iron in order to efficiently produce such iron powder. The energy introduced by the pulverization of such feed sponge iron acts as driving force for restoration and recrystallization at the time of finish reduction, thereby decreasing the strain quantity of the product iron powder and growing the crystal grains. The pulverizing machine used for pulverization includes an ordinary ball mill, etc. The finish reduction annealing is preferably executed under conditions of 800 to 950 deg.C and 20 to 120 minutes.

SOLUTION: In the iron-base powder mixtuie containing an iron-base powder, a lubricant, and an alloying powder. one or more kinds selected from the iron- base powder, the lubricant, and the alloying powder are coated, desirably, with a surface treating agent consisting of one or more kinds selected from organoalkoxysilane, organosilazane, titanate-type coupling agent, and fluorine- type coupling agent. It is more desirable that the iron-base powder mixture contains the lubricant melted and sticking to the iron-base powder, the alloying powder adhering to the iron-base powder via the lubricant and the liberated lubricant powder. This iron-base powder mixture is press-compacted at the temp. not lower than the lowest melting point of the contained lubricant and lower than the highest melting point of the lubricant.

The material (A) is such a one that can be molten by heating and is selected from stearic acid, amide oleate, a mixture of amide oleate and ethylene amide bis-stearate, and ethylene amide bis stearate. Then the molten material is cooled, to which 0.3 to 5wt.% powder of the material (A) 0.01 to 0.15wt.% zinc stearate powder and 0.05 to 0.35wt.% lithium stearate powder are added and mixed to obtain an iron-based powder mixture. The binder is prepared by adding a lubricant to oleic acid, spindle oil, and turbine oil.

CONSTITUTION:If the fine pulverization of RE-TM alloy, which is abundant in ductility and is hard to pulverize and besides which is lower in fusing point than RE2TM14B1 phase and is large in RE/TM ratio, or RE-TM-B alloy is performed under the existence of RE2TM14B1, the harder RE2TM14B1 phase works as an assistant for fine pulverization, so the pulverization becomes easy. Moreover, average concentration of RE element falls, and the activity of powder at large drops, so oxidizing property is weakened, consequently the handling of fine pulverization becomes easy, and also the concentration of oxygen at the time of being made a magnet is reduced, so the property of a product, especially, the coercive force can be improved. In a word, not only the pulverization efficiency of the RE-TM alloy or RE-TM-B alloy higher in RE concentration than RE2TM14B1 can be elevated, but also the danger of ignition falls, so the handling becomes easy, and the concentration of oxygen of a magnet can be maintained low, therefore the magnetic property can be improved.

Next, RE2TM14B1-phase powder and RE-TM alloy or RE-TM-B alloy powder are mixed and then, Ni powder is added further, and those are mixed. After molding of mixed magnetic powder by press in a magnetic field, it is sintered for two hours at 1025 deg.C. What is more, RE shows one or more kinds selected from Ys, Sc, and a lanthanoid, and TM shows one or more kinds selected from Fe, Co, and Ni.
