    • PURPOSE:To uniformize cooling to roll shaft direction by assembling a roll shaft having water supplying water grooves at both ends and drainage grove at center part and a roll sleeve having plural number of cooling water flowing path grooves to the roll shaft direction at inner face of the circumference to make integrated construction. CONSTITUTION:The roll shaft 1c having the water supplying grooves I, I' to circumferential direction at both ends of surface layer part 1b and the drainage groove II at center part and the roll sleeve 1a having plural number of the cooling water flowing path grooves 11 along the roll shaft 1c direction at inner face of the circumference are assembled and integrated. Under such constitution, the cooling water introducing in the roll shaft 1c is injected from the water supplying grooves I, I' in the surface layer part 1b of the roll shaft to cool the lower face of the sleeve 1a. After that, the cooling water is strongly flowed in the drainage groove II at center part, to develop turbulent flow, and further, forcedly cool the sleeve. By this method, the roll can be uniformly cooled, and deformation caused by thermal expansion of the roll shaft direction can be minimized and the deviation of thickness for the rapid cooled strip can be made to small.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformize thin hoop width by settling a rolling reduction force standards at a driving side and an operating side for free cooling rolls and correcting the reduction forces based on difference with the actual reduction forces and detecting values of the roll gap. CONSTITUTION:Corresponding to driving and operating chocks 8A, 8B for the free cooling rolls 2, oil pressure sensors 22A, 22B are arranged respectively and also sensors 14A, 14B, which detect the roll gaps l1, l2 for the driving side and operating side, are arranged. A standard rolling reduction force settler 17 settles the standard reduction force P0 and outputs the standard reduction forces P01, P02 for the driving side and the operating side respectively. Based on the deviations between actual reduction forces P1S, P2S measured by the sensors 22A, 22B, and the standard reduction forces and the detected values of roll gaps l1, l2, an arithmetic device 20A, 20B calculate reduction forces to correct, to execute rolling reduction control. As a solidification at width direction is uniformized, width of the thin hoop metal is uniformized.
