    • A first wireless node may synchronize its timeslots with the timeslots of a second wireless node that was previously transmitting and receiving data in an asynchronous manner with respect to the timeslots of the first wireless node. By synchronizing timeslots, the wireless nodes may avoid interference that may otherwise occur if the wireless nodes operate in an asynchronous manner. A wireless node shares its timing information with other wireless nodes by repeatedly transmitting timing reference signals in conjunction with a synchronization metric that defines the relative priority of the timing reference. In the event a wireless node does not receive a GPS-based timing reference, the wireless node may synchronize to a timing reference based on the parameters of the synchronization metric of that timing reference. In the event a wireless node does not receive any timing references, the wireless node may define and advertise it's a timing reference and associated synchronization metric. To avoid synchronization race conditions, the synchronization metrics may be defined such that wireless nodes that have different timing references will advertise different synchronization metrics.

    • In a first method, a first apparatus determines a channel gain to a second apparatus with which the first apparatus is communicating. The first apparatus determines interferer backoff information that ensures an interference level at the first apparatus such that a signal received from the second apparatus can be decoded reliably. The interferer backoff information is determined based on the channel gain. The first apparatus transmits information based on the interferer backoff information in a message to the second apparatus. In a second method, a first apparatus in communication with a second apparatus determines a channel gain to a third apparatus with which the first apparatus can potentially interfere. The first apparatus receives a message from the third apparatus. The message includes interferer backoff information. The first apparatus determines a power for transmitting a signal to the second apparatus based on the interferer backoff information and the channel gain.

    • Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate adapting wireless device scheduling parameters at least in part by adjusting prioritized bit rates (PBR) of one or more logical channels. The PBRs can be adjusted according to feedback from a media access control layer scheduler or a radio link control layer regarding resource allocations to one or more wireless device, served rate for one or more wireless device, and/or the like. Adjusting the PBRs based on the feedback can increase likelihood that data can be transmitted over substantially all or a specified set of logical channels. Moreover, PBRs can be modified for specific wireless devices based further on resource allocations thereto. Furthermore, PBRs can be modified based at least in part on radio conditions of neighboring access points.
