    • A rapid doffing and donning vest uses a clam shell design wherein the ends of the cummerbund are removably attachable to the rear panel. A blade on the cummerbund mates with a receiver on the rear panel and has a plunger hold the two together. The plunger is attached to a pull strap located on the front panel's shoulder strap via a cord. As the pull strap is pulled outwardly, the cord pulls the plunger away from the mated blade and receiver and allows the two to decouple detaching the cummerbund from the rear panel. Outward pulling on the pull strap also facilitates decoupling of the shoulder strap from the rear panel. When the vest is doffed, the front panel and cummerbund remain attached to each other and detached from the rear panel.

    • A capacitor includes a ceramic capacitor body having opposite ends and comprised of a plurality of electrode layers and dielectric layers and first and second external terminals attached to the ceramic capacitor body. The internal active electrodes within the ceramic capacitor body are configured in an alternating manner. Internal electrode shields within the ceramic capacitor body are used to assist in providing resistance to arc-over. The shields may include a top internal electrode shield and an opposite bottom internal electrode shield wherein the top internal electrode shield and the opposite bottom internal electrode shield are on opposite sides of the plurality of internal active electrodes and each internal electrode shield extends inwardly to or beyond a corresponding external terminal to thereby provide shielding. Side shields are used. The capacitor provides improved resistance to arc-over, high voltage breakdown in air, and allows for small case size. To further increase voltage breakdown, a coating on the ceramic capacitor may be used.

The capacitor provides improved resistance to arc-over, high voltage breakdown in air, and allows for small case size.

    • A connector for use underwater or in a wet or severe environment comprises first and second connector parts adapted to be interengaged to establish an electrical connection. The insulating sleeve of the pin has a first portion with a first diameter in front of a second portion with a second diameter wider than the first diameter, and the connector part has a protective rigid metal sleeve member arranged to extend at least partly along the first portion of the insulating sleeve and at least partly along the second portion thereof. The rigid metal sleeve provides mechanical support to the protected portion of the pin.
