    • Known sensor supports have a recess in which a sensor element is glued by means of an adhesive. The device according to the invention has a plate-shaped sensor element that is accommodated in a recess of a sensor support. A sensor region (3) has at least one measurement resistor, which region is exposed to the flowing medium wherein a gap remains between the sensor element and the recess. To protect an evaluation circuit connected to the sensor element against moisture, the provision is made, according to the invention, that at least partial regions of the evaluation circuit and partial regions of the sensor element are covered by a protective coating, wherein the gap has at least one enlargement by means of which the flow of the protective coating can be influenced. The device according to the invention is used for measuring the mass of a flowing medium in the intake air mass of internal combustion engines.

    • The invention is directed to an arrangement for checking the tightness of a vessel such as a tank system of a motor vehicle. The vessel can have a possible leak and this can be viewed as a first flow resistor. The arrangement includes a pressure source for generating a pressure change in the vessel and a pressure divider system is connected between the pressure source and the vessel which is subjected to the pressure change. The pressure divider system is defined by and includes the first flow resistor and a reference branch having a predetermined second flow resistor. A pressure sensor measures the pressure relationships in the pressure divider system. The invention provides a reliable statement as to a possible leak in the tank system of a motor vehicle while providing a simple and therefore cost effective manufacture. The pressure source used to check the tightness can be utilized for other tasks required in a motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a method for checking the tightness of the vessel.

    • A method is provided for operating a hot-film air-mass sensor, which can be used especially for measuring air mass flows in the intake tract of an internal combustion engine. The hot-film air-mass sensor has a sensor chip having a sensor frame and a sensor diaphragm having at least one heating element and at least two temperature sensors, a chip carrier for holding the sensor chip and at least one additional heating element. The sensor chip is able to be heated up using the at least one additional heating element. Immediately after shutting down the internal combustion engine, the at least one heating element of the sensor diaphragm is switched off, or is switched to a lower heating power. Furthermore, the at least one additional heating element is switched on for a specified postheating phase. The provided method is particularly suitable for avoiding oil contamination of the hot-film air-mass sensor.
