    • PURPOSE:To improve the productivity and yield of products by detecting a wear amount of moving rolls and correcting an axial position of the moving rolls based on the wear amount. CONSTITUTION:A sheet thickness gage 8 and a distance gage 10 are installed on the outlet side of a rolling mill having moving rolls 4, 5 and a roll wear amount calculator 14 and a deviation amount from the reference line calculator 15 are also installed. The total coil weight from a previous changing moment of the rolls 4, 5 is calculated by a calculator 11, the calculator 14 calculates a roll wear amount (m). Then, a deviation amount (q) from the reference line calculated by the calculator 15 is inputted to a roll position commanding device 16 to correct a set roll position deltaa and to change a roll position by use of roll moving devices 17, 18. Hence, shape defects of a product caused by roll wearing is positively prevented. Therefore, the productivity and yield of the product are improved.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize rolling and to improve the rolling yield by detecting the herring bone of a rolled stock at the outlet side of a rolling mill and controlling the outlet side flowing angle of the rolled stock. CONSTITUTION:A herring bone detector 11 is provided at the outlet side of the rolling mill equipped with work rolls 2, 3 and a deflector roll 1 capable of adjusting the height position and deflector roll position detector 14 are respectively arranged. In the case of rolling a rolling material 1, an aligning screw 18 is adjusted with watching the output of the detector 14 by a roll height adjuster 17 when the herring bone detector 11 detects the herring bone generation of the material 1 and the height position of a deflector roll 10 is controlled to adequately adjust the outlet port flowing angle theta of the material 1. Owing to the herring bone being corrected by the adjustment of the angle theta, the rolling is stabilized and the rolling yield is improved due to the rolling quality being improved.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the satisfactory power to improve the edge drop which ceramic rolls possess with a small investment by using the ceramic work rolls to the stands except the final stand of a tandem sheet material rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and final stands 1, 5 of a 5-stands tandem rolling mill consisting of, for example, rolling mills 1-5 are the new type 6-stage rolling mill having axially movable intermediate rolls. The ceramic rolls 6, 7 are used for the stand 4. Since the small-diameter work rolls can be used in the stands 1, 5, the high-draft rolling reduction can be executed and the shape controllability is excellent. The rolling reduction is thereupon executed at the highest possible draft to a material 8 in the stand 1 and the rolling is executed in the conventional manner in the stands 2, 3. The edge drop is improved by rolls 6, 7 in the stand 4. Finally the material is subjected to again the low-draft rolling reduction in the stand 5 to prevent the increase of the edge drop.

    • PURPOSE:To control a roll pressure in the width direction of a rolling sheet and to uniform its thickness in the width direction by providing thermometers to the central part and both end-parts of an upper work roll and operating the parameters, expressing the thermal crown of work roll under the conditions of those temperature differences and whether the sheet is under rolling or not, in case of rolling a steel sheet, etc. CONSTITUTION:A rolling stock 10 such as a steel sheet, is rolled by work rolls 12, 14 provided with intermediate rolls 24, 26 and backup rolls 28, 30. In this case, non- contact thermometers 18, 20, 22 are provided to both end-parts and the central part of the roll 12 to measure the temperatures of said parts, and the results are inputted to an average-value operator 38 and a temp.-difference computing element 40 to detect whether the stock 10 is under rolling or not at the same time by a rolling detector 58, then the parameters, expressing the thermal crown profiles of rolls 12, 14, are operated by a computing element 56 based on said measured conditions. From the operated results, the differences of the thermal crown quantities at respective points, 0.538B, 0.8B, 0.906B, when the width of stock 10 is represented by 2B, are controlled into specific values, to uniform the thickness in the width direction of rolling stock 10.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of sheet thickness in the longitudinal and width directions, by preventing the influence of bending force affecting in the accuracy of sheet thickness in the longitudinal direction from the change caused by the movement of rolls, in a rolling mill equipped with rolls movable in the axial directions, too. CONSTITUTION:A material to be rolled is rolled by a rolling mill consisting of work rolls 2 and 3, intermediate rolls 4 and 5 movable in the axial directions, and back-up rolls 6 and 7. A whole rolling load by a load cell 8, a work roll bending force added by jacks 9 by a load cell 10, and further, a bending force of intermediate rolls by a load cell 14 are detected respectively. The positions of intermediate rolls 4 and 5 are obtained by an arithmetic device 17 basing on the signals of detectors 15 and 16 to output them to an arithmetic device 18, and the coefficient of rigidity of each mill is calculated basing on the distance between the end parts of intermediates rolls to output them to a calculator 19, and the sheet thickness at that time is calculated basing on the detected value of each load cells 8, 10, 12, and 14, and the rigidity of each mill, and the difference between the calculated thickness and a target sheet thickness is obtained by a comparator 20, and the result is inputted to an arithmetic device 21 to control a rolling reduction device 23, by its output thereby the sheet thickness of the material 1 is controlled to the prescribed value.

CONSTITUTION:A plate material having the deformation formed during hot rolling such as plate crowns or edge drops is cut to half, and the cut materials are laminated in such a way that the plate end parts are positioned on both ends, whereby the distribution in the width direction of the thickness totalling the thicknesses of the two upper and lower plates is made approximately symmetric to the right and left.     • PURPOSE:To make possible highly accurate and rapid shape controlling by forecasting the asymmetrical shapes produced by asymmetrical factors such as temp. differences of the material to be rolled on the inlet side of a rolling mill having a pair of axially movable rolls and performing the correction of asymmetrical shapes. CONSTITUTION:In the rolling mill having at least a pair of axially movable rolls 2, 3, the apparatus is constituted of the asymmetrical factor detectors, such as thickness gauges 17, 18', material position detectors 14, 15, thermometers 20, 21, etc. provided on the inlet side, the calculators 23, 25 which extract asymmetrical components from the asymmetrical shapes produced by the above-described factors and create vectors, the calculator 26 which selects an optimum correction device out of the right and left bending force differences for correcting said asymmetrical shapes, a calculator 35 which calculates the optimum correction amount of the correcting devices, and a screw-down command device 31 which controls set value, whereby the correction of the asymmetrical shapes is accomplished. These eliminate the existence of any shape insufficiency owing to time delay and make possible rapid shape controlling.
