The networked device may be an appliance or other device that has limited input capabilities, making it difficult to to download information such as digital media files from an online service without having to input a significant amount of information using the device or appliance. The method begins by establishing communication with a service over a network. A claim token is received from the service over the network. The claim token is returned to the service over the network after the claim token has been bound to an authorized user of the service. In response to return of the claim token, a device identifier binds the networked device to an account with the service that is associated with the authorized user.

The system and method provides a user with the ability to create a list of items that the user would like others to purchase for the user as a gift or as a list of items that the user would like to retain for a later purchase. A user interface is provided that allows the user to select items electronically to add to a user specific gift list. The items are not limited to specific products, but can include general product categories and/or products from a specific merchant or manufacturer. The user interface communicates through an interface component that extracts data from a number of databases. For example, the databases can include a merchant database, an offers database, a manufacturers database and a products database. The interface will extract data from one or all of the databases based on the amount of information in a gift list request and provide the best results. As records are removed from the databases, the interface allows for graceful degradation of the display, such that something is always displayed to the user.

An identification of the different accounts corresponding to a user is displayed to the user and the user is allowed to manipulate these accounts. The electronic wallet also allows the user to combine funds from multiple different accounts into a single account. This combination allows the interface on a merchant server to be designed to accommodate a single account without concern for what types of accounts a user may wish to combine. Furthermore, in accordance with one aspect, when the user is purchasing goods and/or services from a merchant on-line, only those accounts that are useable at the merchant are presented as being available to the user.

摘要： An enforcement architecture and method for implementing digital rights management are disclosed. Digital content is distributed from a content server to a computing device of a user and received, and an attempt is made to render the digital content by way of a rendering application. The rendering application invokes a Digital Rights Management (DRM) system, and such DRM system determines whether a right to render the digital content in the manner sought exists based on any digital license stored in the computing device and corresponding to the digital content. If the right does not exist, a digital license that provides such right and that corresponds to the digital content is requested from a license server, and the license server issues the digital license to the DRM system. The computing device receives the issued digital license and stores the received digital license thereon.

In some examples, a time-limited proximity code is displayed by a public display device, and a client device can provide the code via a public network to verify that the client device is present within a proximity zone and is allowed to control the public display. Once authorized, the client device can provide control data to control visual content on the public display. A relay service can be used to relay data over a network via communication connections between client devices and public display devices. For example, the relay service can be implemented on a server connected to the network and can use HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol) to relay data such as control data via messages from one device to another.

A central server receives a first request from a first server to provide a first service to a user via a client without forcing the user to present credentials. In response to the received first request, the central server stores data identifying the first service on the client. The central server further receives a second request from a second server to provide a second service to the user via the client after the user presents the credentials to the second service. After receiving the second request and the presented credentials, the central server allows the user access to the second service. In response to allowing the user access to the second service, the central server further allows the user access to the first service as a result of the stored data.
