    • The use is described ofa) mono- and/or polyfunctional alcohols of natural and/or synthetic origin which are at least largely water-insoluble and are fluid and pumpable in the temperature range of 0.degree. to 5.degree. C.,or ofb) solutions, fluid and pumpable in the given temperature range, in ecologically-acceptable water-insoluble oils, of at least largely water-insoluble mono- and/or polyfunctional alcohols of natural and/or synthetic origin,as the continuous oil phase of drilling fluids, which exist as W/O-emulsions, have a dispersed aqueous phase and preferably have further usual additives in the alcohol-containing oil phase, and which are suitable for the environment-friendly development of, e.g., petroleum and natural gas deposits. Drilling fluids of the above type are also described, which are characterized in that they contain as the continuous oil phase, or dissolved in ecologically-acceptable water-insoluble oils, an additive of at least largely water-insoluble mono- and/or polyfunctional alcohols, the oil phase in each case being fluid and pumpable in the temperature range of 0.degree. to 5.degree. C. and having flash points above 80.degree. C.

    • An additive for drilling fluids employed in the deep well drilling industry, which additive comprises an organometal compound of titanium, zirconium or vanadium with humic acid and a further organic moiety which is at least one of fatty acid alkoxylates, fatty alcohol polyalkylene glycol ethers, long-chain amine alkoxylates optionally substituted with a hydroxyl group, or water-insoluble polyalkoxylate all of which are optionally mixed with fatty acids, and fatty acids alone, these having optionally been applied onto an inorganic carrier, mandatorily in the case of fatty acids alone. The fluid loss additive prevents the drilling fluid from streaming into porous drill formations. The additive may be prepared by the reaction of a metal alcoholate with a compound providing the organic moiety and humic acid or a humic acid-containing product.

    • The invention relates to an application head (15) for dispensing a free-flowing medium. The application head (15) comprises an injection chamber (10) inside the application head (15) and an injection needle (11) movably mounted inside the injection chamber (10). An opening movement (P) of the injection needle (11) opens an outlet (12). A supply channel (13) and a supply line are also provided in order to introduce the free-flowing medium into the injection chamber (10). A drive (20) generates the opening movement (P) of the injection needle (11). The application head (15) also comprises a lever arm (30), the first end (31) of said arm being movably fixed to a rear end (14) of the injection needle (11) and the second end (32) thereof being connected to the drive. A membrane suspension (33) comprising a membrane (34) is provided, and the lever arm (30) extends through the membrane (34) of the membrane suspension (33). The membrane suspension (33) is used to movably connect the lever arm (30) to the application head (15), and as a seal to prevent the free-flowing medium from leaking out.
