    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To communicate with an IPv4 terminal, even if an IPv4 address has not been previously allocated to an IPv6 terminal by fixing, and further communicate, without assigning to what is used as a communication protocol mutually by a counterpart, by designating the counterpart with a domain name. SOLUTION: The address-notifying method comprises IP for transmitting and receiving means 10 for transmitting and receiving an IPv4 packet and an IPv6 packet an IP header conversion means 11 for making mutual conversion between the IPv4 packet and the IPv6 packet by an IP header conversion; a DNS proxy means 13 for accepting a domain information acquisition request, transmitted from an IPv4 terminal or an IPv6 terminal and performing the processing as a proxy; IPv4 address acquiring means 14 for acquiring the IPv4 address from a DHCP server; and an IP address conversion information holding means 15 for holding the IPv6 address of the IPv6 terminal and the IPv4 address, acquired by the IPv4 address acquiring means 14 associated between them. Since resources report information is transmitted from each communication node control function, a resources report receiving function 533 receives it, subsequently decides the class of the resources report information and notifies a system operation management function and the functions 531 and 532 of it. An inter-organization arbitration function 535 negotiates with another inter-organization arbitration function 535 belonging to another management domain function and acquires needed network resources.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repeatedly process received frame data at high speed by storing the address and repeatedly processed result of frame data to which repeating processing is performed before and executing the repeating processing through the processing means of the repeating processing result coincident with the address of received frame data. SOLUTION: A main processor 110 of a multilayer switch 100 stores the frame data received from input/output ports 112-115 into a transmission/reception frame memory 116 and retrieves the previous repeated processing result stored in a repeated processing result storage part 123 coincident with the address of received frame data through a high-speed retrieval part 121. Next, a repeated processing discrimination part 122 judges the existence of the coincident processing result. When such a result does not exist, ordinary processing is performed but when such a result exists, it is check whether router repeated processing or bridge repeated processing is performed to the repeated processing result before and the previous processing method is started immediately. Thus, the repeated processing of received frame data can be performed at high speed.

SOLUTION: A switch 20 is provided with an address solution control part 47 and an ARP packet detection part 382 inside a destination port discrimination part 38. The ARP packet detection part 382 confirms a transferred packet and when it is judged as an ARP packet, all the bits of the destination port identification part are cleared. Next, the ARP packet is transferred from a destination port distribution part 39 to the address resolution control part 47 and a packet generated by the address solution control part 47 is transferred to the destination port distribution part 39 respectively. Further, an ARP response packet is transferred from a managing part 36 to the address solution control part 47.

The equipment is provided with an entry frequency of use discrimination device 13 to count the frequency of use of the relay controller 10 and minimized information of a network address discriminated not frequently in use by the device 13 is stored in a routing information compressor 11 in other form. When the routing of the network address of the other form is required, routing information is inquired of the routing manager 2 and the relay is made depending on the result and the routing information is generated by an entry generator 12 in a first entry form.
