    • Power inverters include a frame and a power module. The frame has a sidewall including an opening and defining a fluid passageway. The power module is coupled to the frame over the opening and includes a substrate, die, and an encasement. The substrate includes a first side, a second side, a center, an outer periphery, and an outer edge, and the first side of the substrate comprises a first outer layer including a metal material. The die are positioned in the substrate center and are coupled to the substrate first side. The encasement is molded over the outer periphery on the substrate first side, the substrate second side, and the substrate outer edge and around the die. The encasement, coupled to the substrate, forms a seal with the metal material. The second side of the substrate is positioned to directly contact a fluid flowing through the fluid passageway.

    • A method evaluates a plurality of candidate index sets for a workload of database statements in a database system by first generating baseline statistics for each statement in the workload. An index superset is formed by combining an existing or current index set and a proposed index set. A candidate index set is derived from the index superset, the candidate index being one of the plurality of candidate index sets. Statistics for a statement are generated by first creating an execution plan which represents an efficient series of steps for executing the statement given the candidate index set. The execution plan is evaluated, and statistics based on the evaluation of the execution plan are generated and recorded. The cost of the execution plan is then determined and statistics are generated. Statistics for each candidate index set are rolled up and presented to a user or an index tuning mechanism.

    • A detector for determining the validity of a received code, such as a Digital Supervisory Audio Tone (DSAT) code. A received DSAT code is serially shifted into a shift register (10) which outputs the received DSAT code in parallel format to a set of 24 exclusive-OR gates (12). Another shift register (11) receives a valid code, such as a valid DSAT code. The register (11) outputs the valid DSAT code, and right circular shifted (rotated) versions of the valid DSAT code, to the gates (12). The comparison signal from the gates (12) is provided to another register (13) and a counter (16) which together count the number of mismatches between the received DSAT code and the reference DSAT codes. The output of the counter (16) is provided to a comparator (17) which compares the number of mismatches against the allowable number of mismatches. The output of the comparator (17) is a validity signal (7) which indicates whether the received DSAT code matches any of the reference DSAT codes. Either the received code or the reference code may be used to provide the rotated codes.

    • The present invention is a segmented LED lighting system. In particular, the present invention is directed to a set of channel segments connected by a flexible lens sleeve that can be positioned in a variety of ways. A printed circuit board with at least one LED is mounted in each channel segment. Each segment preferably has a base with two ribbed vertical sides. The lens sleeve is preferably coextruded from flexible acrylic and has opaque side grips that grip the ribbed vertical sides and a translucent lens portion with an air gap.
