摘要： Cermets are provided in which a substantially stoichiometric metal carbide ceramic phase along with a reprecipitated metal carbide phase, represented by the formula M x C y , is dispersed in a metal binder phase. In M x C y M is Cr, Fe, Ni, Co, Si, Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Mo or mixtures thereof, x and y are whole or fractional numerical values with x ranging from 1 to 30 and y from 1 to 6. These cermets are particularly useful in protecting surfaces from erosion and corrosion at high temperatures.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for cleaning the surface of an alloy comprising a base metal and an alloying metal, comprising the steps of: (a) pigging said alloy surface; and thereafter (b) passivating said alloy by contacting said surface with a gas comprising steam for a time and at a temperature sufficient to form at least on mixed oxide layer on said alloy wherein said mixed metal oxide contains an average alloying metal content of from equal to the alloying metal content in said alloy up to 100% alloying metal. The method is particularly applicable in increasing the run length in a refinery process conducted in a unit having alloy surfaces susceptible to fouling.

摘要： Provided is a bimetallic tube for transport of hydrocarbon feedstocks in a petrochemical process unit and/or refinery process unit, Including: i) an outer tube layer being formed from a steam- cracker alloy including at least 18.0 wt.% Cr and at least 10.0 wt.% Ni; ii) an inner tube layer being formed from an alumina forming bulk alloy including 5.0 to 10.0 wt.% of Al, 18.0 wt.% to 25.0 wt.% Cr, less than 0.5 wt.% Si, and at least 35.0 wt.% Fe with the balance being Ni, wherein the inner tube layer is formed plasma powder welding the alumina forming bulk alloy on the inner surface of the outer tube layer; and iii) an oxide layer formed on the surface of the inner tube layer.
