摘要： The present invention relates to immunoglobulin (Ig)-binding proteins with alkali- resistance properties. In one embodiment, the present invention provides for a variant of an Ig-binding protein, the variant comprising the Ig-binding protein having at least one asparagine residue substituted with a histidine, a serine, an aspartic acid or a threonine residue. The at least one substitution may confer to the variant Ig-binding protein an increased stability in alkaline solutions when compared to the wild-type Ig-binding. The present invention relates also to matrices for affinity separation of immunoglobulins comprising the Ig-binding proteins of the present invention, and to methods of using the Ig-binding proteins of the present invention to separate immunoglobulins from mixture compositions.

摘要： A modular array light source assembly is provided, preferably comprising a plurality of solid-state LED array modules. Modules may be abutted to provide a large area, high intensity, and high-density array. Preferably, in each module, a linear or rectangular array of groups of LED is provided in which the density of LED die is higher at ends or edges of the modules abutting other modules, to provide improved uniformity of irradiance over the illuminated area between modules. Particular arrangements of clusters of LEDs are provided that reduce or overcome the discontinuity or dip in irradiance due to edge or wall effects caused by the spacing of LED die from edges of the substrate/packaging of each module. These arrangements are advantageous for hermetically sealed LED array modules, for example, which require a minimum wall thickness for an effective seal.

The customer (106) navigates (304) through the bundle, tracks down selections of interest to himself, and "consumes" (306) them. In some embodiments, the multi-media content items include recorded video clips, interviews, and other background information. Other content items can be live video feeds of the event taken from various viewpoints. Advertising for merchandise related to the event can be included. Some of the multi-media content items are designed to enhance the customer's experience of the event or to build loyalty. The media bundle is updated (308, 410) during the course of the event, removing items no longer of interest and adding new ones to keep the customer (106) engaged. When the event is over, the media bundle can continue to operate to provide event recaps, post-event interviews, schedules for future events, and opportunities to purchase tickets for those future events.

摘要： Saturated tabletop lasers having increased output energy and operating at 5 Hz repetition rate, were demonstrated at wavelengths about 18.9 nm for a molybdenum target, 16.4 nm for a ruthenium target, 14.7 nm for a palladium target, 13.9 nm for a silver target, and 13.2 nm for a cadmium target in transitions of nickel-like ions. The results were obtained using a sequence of two, plasma-generating pre-pulses, each having sub-Joule energy followed after a selected delay period by picosecond laser plasma excitation pulse having an energy of about 1 J at angles of incidence optimized for maximum energy deposition.

摘要： The invention includes a method of treating a solid acid catalyst. After exposing the catalyst to a mixture containing a sugar alcohol, the catalyst is washed with an organic solvent and is then exposed to a second reaction mixture. The invention includes a process for production of anhydrosugar alcohol. A solid acid catalyst is provided to convert sugar alcohol in a first sample to an anhydrosugar alcohol. The catalyst is then washed with an organic solvent and is subsequently utilized to expose a second sample. The invention includes a method for selective production of an anhydrosugar. A solid acid catalyst is provided within a reactor and anhydrosugar alcohol is formed by flowing a starting sugar alcohol into the reactor. The acid catalyst is then exposed to an organic solvent which allows a greater amount of additional anhydrosugar to be produced than would occur without exposing the acid catalyst to the organic solvent.
