    • An image forming apparatus and method are disclosed. The image forming apparatus and method comprise a main image forming apparatus having a developing section and capable of being independently driven so that it prints an image onto a paper fed on the basis of input image information; at least one sub-image forming apparatus removably mounted to the main image forming apparatus in sequence, the sub-image forming apparatus having a developing section and modularized to perform printing operation according to a control command. The apparatus and method further comprise a main paper feeding unit connected to the main image forming apparatus and feeding a paper to the main image forming apparatus; at least one sub-paper feeding units removably connected to the main paper feeding unit in sequence for feeding a paper to the sub-image forming apparatus, respectively; and a control section for selectively controlling the operation of respective image forming apparatuses and respective paper feeding units on the basis of input image information in a manner that printing operations are performed either in one image forming apparatus or simultaneously in the respective image forming apparatuses.

    • A cooling apparatus of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a cooling fan and a first opening. The cooling fan emits heat in the electrophotographic image forming apparatus to an outside of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus, is installed in any one of two frames that are opposite to each other so as to support a fusing unit, is disposed in a direction where a paper is discharged from the fusing unit, and allows internal air to flow out. The first opening is formed in a first frame that is opposite to a second frame in which the cooling fan is installed, and allows external air to flow into the electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The cooling apparatus is applied to a dry or wet electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The cooling apparatus emits heat generated from a fusing unit to the outside without affecting temperatures of a photosensitive drum and a developer unit so as to prolong a usable period of the photosensitive drum and improve an image quality. Also, waste toner is not congealed so as to reduce a load exerted on the cooling apparatus and the developer unit.

    • An ink-jet spraying device includes an ink chamber for holding ink corresponding to an opening in a nozzle plate; an ultrasonic vibration plate which vibrates in order to separate pigment particles in the ink; a mesh grid for electrically charging the separated pigment particles, with a voltage applied; and an electric field formation circuit for spraying the electrically charged pigment particles through the nozzle openings in accordance with a print command. The separated pigment particles acquire an electric polarity while passing through the mesh grid, since the voltage applied to the mesh grid is greater or equal to that of the formed electric field. The electric field formation circuit includes: a common electrode installed under the ink chamber; and individual electrodes disposed above the ink chamber.

    • A paper picking-up unit and an image forming apparatus having the same are provided. The paper picking-up unit includes a knock-up plate to stack paper thereon; a shaft disposed at a front end of the knock-up plate to rotate, a pick-up roller engaged with the shaft to rotate and pick-up the paper stacked on the knock-up plate, and a knock-up plate ascending and descending portion to raise and lower the knock-up plate according to the rotation of the pick-up roller. The pick-up roller includes a roller body engaged and rotatable with the shaft, and having a frictional layer to pick-up the paper by causing friction with the paper, a pair of roller housings to support opposite sides of the roller body such that the roller body does not move in a lengthwise direction of the shaft, and a damper disposed at an outer circumference of each roller housing to reduce noise caused by a collision of the roller housings and the knock-up plate.
