    • A catalyst solid for olefin polymerization is prepared by combining a finely divided support with an aluminoxane, and adding the reaction product of a metallocene compound with organometallic compound to a modified support. Preparation of a catalyst solid for olefin polymerization, comprises combining a finely divided support with an aluminoxane, and adding the reaction product of a metallocene compound of the (I) with organometallic compound of the (VIII) to a modified support.     • Novel bridged cyclopentadienyl compounds and corresponding metallocene catalysts are claimed. Bridged cyclopentadienyl compounds (I) are of formula (1).
