The plasma surface treatment is performed under the gas atmosphere containing fluorine. A spray device(130) sprays water or steam onto the inner wall surface of the cavity such that contaminant sticking to the inner wall surface of the cavity is removed. The spray device includes a water tank(132) for storing the water and a nozzle(134) for spraying the water or steam onto the inner wall surface of the cavity.

    • An apparatus and a method for driving a plasma display panel are provided to prevent deterioration of a cell and a driving IC(Integrated Circuit) by implementing a power saving mode where the amount of output sustain data is reduced. An apparatus for driving a plasma display panel includes a signal detector(400), a video scan converter(200), a controller(500), and a display panel(300). The signal detector detects a synchronous signal and a noise signal from an input signal. The video scan converter converts the detected synchronous and noise signals into an ADC(Analog to Digital Converter) level. The controller stores the converted ADC level to a storing unit, determines that a current input field is a weak electric field if the ADC level is over a predetermined value, and outputs a driving signal as a low power mode by reducing the magnitude of output signal. The display panel displays images according to the driving signal.
