    • PURPOSE: An apparatus of controlling power for handoffs of frequencies in a code division multiple access(CDMA) communication system is provided to reduce interferences caused by an excessive transmission power, by controlling a regular power in a frame section including a transmission-intercepting section when the handoffs are performed between the frequencies. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus of controlling power for handoffs of frequencies in a base station of a code division multiple access(CDMA) communication system, comprises a power control command generator, a channel transmitter, a power control processor(114), gain controllers(100), and a radio frequency(RF) transmitter. The power control command generator compares a terminal signal with a preset power control reference value, and generates a power control command. The power control command generator changes the power control reference value to generate a power control command, when a frame having a transmission-intercepting section is received. The channel transmitter generates transmitting frame data and includes the power control commands. The power control processor decides a frame transmission power including the transmission-intercepting section for the handoffs. The gain controller controls a transmission power of a signal output from the channel transmitter by the decided transmission power. The RF transmitter modulates a gain-controlled signal into a transmission frequency to transmit the frequency.
