    • An image processing apparatus comprises: an image input unit to input an image; an image thinner for getting the OR of (m dots in the vertical direction)×(n dots in the horizontal direction) for the input image from the image input unit, thereby thinning out the (m×n) pixels and newly forming one pixel; a labeler for adding labels every line to black pixels of the image which was thinned out by the image thinner and adding the same label to the pixels which are continuous in the vertical, horizontal, or oblique direction and simultaneously tracing a rectangle; and a separator detector for distinguishing a rectangle corresponding to a sentence portion, a rectangle corresponding to a figure or photograph, a rectangle corresponding to a table, a rectangle corresponding to a separator, and the like by using a width, a height, an area, and a pixel density (the number of pixels to the area) of the rectangle added with the label by the labeler. On the basis of the result of the detection of the separator detector, the area of the input image is divided.

    • An automatic document feeder includes a document-loading device that loads a plurality of sheets of a document thereupon. A document-receiving device is arranged below the document-loading device and receives and stacks sheets of the document one by one, which have been transported from the document-loading device. A sheet-guiding device guides transportation of a sheet of the document from the document-loading device to the document-receiving device. A sheet-transporting device transports a sheet of the document one by one along the sheet-guiding device from the document-loading device to the document-receiving device. An open-and-close cover covers and exposes an upper portion and a side of the sheet-guiding device and the sheet-transporting device. A rotative connecting device connects the open-and-close covering device and the body of the automatic document feeder at a rear part thereof such that the open-and-close cover opens upward in a direction perpendicular to a sheet-transporting-direction by the sheet-transporting device.

    • According to one embodiment, an acoustic correction apparatus includes: a signal obtaining module configured to obtain an acoustic signal from a target space including an object and an external space; a signal output module configured to output to the target space a measurement signal; a coefficient identifying module configured to identify, on the basis of a response acoustic signal, a correction coefficient of a correction filter that reduces a resonance frequency component of a resonance in the object; a filtering module configured to use the correction filter, and filter the signal provided to the object; a noise cancelling module configured to remove, on the basis of the acoustic signal, a noise component comprised in the acoustic signal from the filtered signal; and an output module configured to output the acoustic signal, from which the noise component is removed by the noise cancelling module, to the object.
