摘要： A seal assembly seals first and second operational surfaces spaced apart by a gap. The first surface includes a seal groove having a base surface and first and second side surfaces. A sealing element in the seal groove has a foot portion extending parallel to the base surface which engages the second operational surface. A leg portion extending from the foot portion toward the base surface has first and second surfaces. A back-up ring adjacent to the sealing element prevents extrusion of the sealing element into the gap. A first side of the back-up ring mates with the second surface of the leg portion, and a second side mates with one of the first and second side surfaces of the seal groove. An energizer element located between the base surface and the foot portion applies uniform pressure to the leg and foot portions when the energizer element is compressed.

摘要： Closed-cell and/or open-cell cellular perfluoroelastomeric materials are described which may be adapted for use in sealing members and laminates which improve low temperature elastomeric properties of perfluoroelastomeric materials. A variety of unique medical devices based on cellular and solid perfluoroelastomers are also described. The closed-cell cellular perfluoroelastomers are formed by combining a perfluoroelastomeric composition and a curing agent with a plurality of microspheres and/or a gas generating agent at a temperature high enough to soften the perfluoroelastomeric composition, but not high enough to expand the microspheres or activate the gas generating agent and then further heating the composition, microspheres and/or gas generating agents to cure the elastomer, expand the microspheres and/or activate the gas generating agent. Open-cell cellular perfluoroelastomers are formed by combining a perfluoroelastomeric composition, a curing agent and a pore forming agent in solvent, at least partially removing the solvent, curing the perfluoroelastomeric composition and removing the pore forming agent.

摘要： A self contained sensing apparatus (10) includes a housing (12) establishing an interior compartment (36), the housing having a maximum thickness which is less than the size of an access (110) extending through a principal housing surface (16). A sensor (90) is provided within the housing (12) and generally aligned with the window (40) for sensing at least one parameter. In a preferred embodiment, the sensor (90) is an optical sensor for sensing images through the window (40). A transmitter (96) is provided within the housing (12) and coupled with the sensor for receiving signals representative of the sensed parameter and transmitting the signals out of the housing.

摘要： The invention includes a cross-linking composition comprising a cross-linking compound and a cross-linking reaction additive selected from ah organic acid and/or an acetate compound, wherein the cross-linking reaction additive is capable of reacting with the cross-linking compound to form a reactive oligomer intermediate, which is capable of cross-linking an organic polymer. In one embodiment, the at least one organic polymer has at least one halogen-containing reactive group and is dehalogenated by reacting with an alkali metal compound. The compositions include (a) a compound selected from the group consisting of aluminum acrylates, silicon acrylates, ammonia acrylates, and combinations thereof, (b) an adhesive compound; and (c) a solvent. 摘要： A method for forming a thermoplastic article having a high volume loading of a long fiber reinforcement includes providing a first thermoplastic composite material having at least about 40 volume percent of at least one reinforcing fiber; providing at least one mold, wherein the outlet of the first mold section is in communication with the inlet of the second mold section; introducing the first thermoplastic composite material into the first mold cavity; applying heat and pressure to the first thermoplastic composite material in the first mold cavity until the first mold section reaches at least a first process temperature; releasing the pressure on the mold; and reapplying pressure to the mold while cooling, wherein said cooling solidifies the first thermoplastic composite to form a molded article having the shape of the second mold cavity.

摘要： Compositions including at least one curable fluoropolymer are disclosed which include at least one functional group for crosslinking the fluoropolymer, a curative capable of crosslinking the at least one fluoropolmer selected from the group consisting of functionalized biphenyl-based compounds, various monoamidine and monamidoxime compounds as well as bisamidine compounds and combinations thereof; and at least one cure accelerator which may be an organic peroxide or an organic peroxide in combination with a colorant. Adhesive fluoroelastomeric compositions comprising colorants are also provided. The compositions described provide beneficial physical properties, increased plasma resistance, unique adhesive properties and/or reduced contamination associated with use of external adhesive. Methods for forming articles which incorporate fluoroelastomers bonded to metallic surfaces are also provided.

摘要： A hermetic pressure connector which provides a pressure-tight, electrically conductive connection through a hole in a bulkhead. The connector includes a transverse support member having a high pressure side and an opposite low pressure side. A passage extends through the transverse support member between the opposite sides. A conductor pin having an axial portion extends through the passage. An insulating sleeve surrounds at least the axial portion of the conductor pin, thereby electrically insulating the transverse support member from the conductor pin. A molded connected body surrounds at least a central portion of the conductor pin at least at one of the high and low pressure sides to thereby mechanically support the conductor pin in the passage. The molded connector body is directly sealingly engaged with the conductor pin, the insulating sleeve and the transverse support member.

摘要： A tool for manipulating a fiber optic connector includes a handle portion having a first major axis and first and second ends. An intermediate support arm having a second major axis extends from the first end of the handle portion. First and second jaws extend from the intermediate support arm. Each jaw extends generally perpendicular to the second major axis of its respective intermediate support arm and generally orthogonal to the first major axis. Each jaw includes a gripping portion having a generally concave shape configured to complementarily receive a portion of the fiber optic connector. Movement of the handle portion moves the jaws between an open position in which the jaws are spaced apart for loosely receiving a fiber optic connector, and a closed position in which the jaws securely grip the fiber optic connector.
