摘要： A light fitting comprises a generally cylindrical male plug portion which is received in a standard bayonet light socket and a bayonet socket portion (5) which is arranged to receive a bayonet-type light bulb (8). The electrical connection between the terminals of the plug portion and bayonet socket portion includes a resistor (7) having a resistance of eg 20 to 40 ohms for a light fitting intended for use with a standard 240V, 60W tungsten filament bulb. The resistor has a resistance which is a significant proportion of the initial resistance of the bulb (when the filament of the latter is cold) and therefore substantially reduces the initial current to the bulb. When the bulb filament reaches its normal working temperature its resistance is many times that of the resistor which therefore only slightly reduces the steady-state power dissapation. However both these effects increase the life of the bulb. The fitting may alternatively be an Edison screw fitting, and the resistor may be a thermistor.

The tendon (b,g,m,r,s) may terminate at the hub and wheel assembly (c,d,e), the other end being attached to the vehicle chassis (k), or may pass through attachment means in the assembly (c,d,e) and have both ends attached to the chassis (k).

摘要： A waste bin 1 for soft clinical waste in hospitals, such as swabs and dressings, comprises a top wall 10 and side walls 5, 6 formed from at least one sheet of cardboard by folding and defining an inner space for receiving waste. The top wall 10 is provided with a moulded plastics insert 7 adapted to be seated within an aperture in the top wall and including a cover 15 which is pivotal along one edge between an open position permitting introduction of waste into the inner space through an opening 16 of the insert and a closed position in which the cover 15 sealingly closes off the opening 16 and in which the cover 15 is held by engagement of a projection 17 within a recess 18. Such a bin, which may or may not be provided with a plastics liner within the inner space for receiving the waste, is capable of safely and hygienically storing medical waste so as to protect cleansing operatives or hospital staff from contamination. Furthermore the waste bin may be disposed of with the waste.

Removal of the lid part 3 from the base part 2 and lifting of the base part 2 causes the lining bag 25 containing waste to be removed from the base part 2 through the bottom 4 of the base part.
