    • PURPOSE: A method for producing a welding wire is provided to enhance feeding performance and conductivity by containing copper powder in a lubricant attached on the surface of the welding wire not plated with copper. CONSTITUTION: Copper powder is contained in a lubricant attached on the surface of a welding wire within the range of 3*10 -5 to 1*10 -2 wt%. The welding wire is drawn using a metallic soap class lubricant. Using the lubricant containing the copper powder, molybdenum disulfide and graphite, the copper powder is attached on the surface of the welding wire within 3*10 -5 to 1*10 -2 wt%. Furthermore, the welding wire is drawn with an alkali class lubricant and the copper powder is attached on the surface of the welding wire again within 3*10 -5 to 1*10 -2 wt%.
