摘要： A particulate hydrogel material is made by grinding the product of reacting submicron acid-degradable fluoridated aluminosilicate glass to completion with poly(acrylic acid). This material is used in a two-paste cement pack for a dental cement which, when mixed, cures by light-activation, a glass ionomer reaction and a chemical curing. Both pastes contain cross-linkable methacrylate monomers and the above pre-reacted particulate material, which is fluorine-containing glass ionomer cement totally depleted of unreacted glass. The first paste also contains poly(acrylic acid) or poly(vinyl phosphonic) acid or both. The second paste, which is a command-cure cement in its own right, contains a zinc glass and poly(acrylic acid) but the reaction between these is held in suspended animation until the paste is exposed to air and light.

摘要： A modular electric storage battery is adaptable to a variety of applications, and for example, as a starting, lighting and ignition (SLI) battery of a car, truck, motorcycle, lawn and garden equipment or other internal combustion engine powered product. The modular battery is constructed from a plurality of battery cells assembled into a battery housing. The cells are sealed, maintenance-free, rechargeable cells. The housing includes quick connect termination, and the starting application is adapted with a base unit having complementary termination. The modular battery and base unit also include aligning features to ensure proper interconnection of the battery terminals. The base unit may be adapted to receive several sizes of modular battery. In addition, a second modular battery, that may be configured as a flashlight or other device, is provided and can be interconnected with the base unit to provide a jump starting capability.

摘要： A master chart comprises a representation of various blocks (1) of colour produced by suitable combinations of the base colours cyan, magenta, yellow and black (C, M, Y, K). There are also illustrations of colour prints (2) which are to be printed by a copying machine onto a sheet. For the colour standardisation procedure test sheets are provided onto which the images from the master chart are to be printed. These carry the same array of colour blocks (1A) and picture representations (2A) but the block and colour representations are offset with respect to the positioning of the corresponding blocks on the master chart. The operator can compare the various colour blocks against one another and make an estimation as to what adjustments are needed to the copier to ensure that a more acceptable print is achieved. The test sheet could incorporate holes adjacent to each of the colour patches through which the colour patches from the master chart can be viewed.

摘要： Individual sets of data control points are illustrated on a typical torque profile of a brushless DC motor showing how the torque capability decreases with increase of speed of the motor. Each set effectively corresponds to a particular simulated gear setting for gear changes when driving a vehicle powered by such an electric motor. The envelope defined by the data control points for four 'gear settings' are indicated by the reference numerals (I, II, III, IIII). The control equipment for driving the motor can then only operate within the particular set which is selected (by suitable programming of an electronic control unit). When the user senses that he has reached maximum speed under a particular set he can change to a new set and thus effectively move up a gear. The reverse will of course apply if there is a desire to decelerate. As the driver arranges to increase the speed of the car to a maximum he will move up through each of the four gears unitl the maximum available speed from the motor is achieved.
