    • The invention relates to a paste-like mass, which may be used in electrochemical components and which comprises a heterogeneous mixture of (1.) a matrix (A), comprising at least one organic polymer, pre-cursors or pre-polymers thereof, or the named components, (2.) an inorganic material in the form of a solid substance (B), which may be electrochemically activated and is not soluble in either water or the matrix and (3.) a material (C), which can improve the transport and storage of electrolyte fluids in(to) the component, with the proviso, that said material (C) is not a material which possesses conductivity-improving properties when the solid substance (B) is made from a material suitable as electrode material. Layers (foils) and layered electrochemical composites may be produced from said mass, which may subsequently be impregnated with an electrolyte solution, preferably an electrolyte dissolved in the plastifier agents for matrix (A). Electrochemically active components, for example batteries and accumulators, may be produced in this manner.

    • The invention relates to a photovoltaically self-charging storage system comprising a layer structure in which a first material (1), which forms a first redox system, a second material (2), which forms a second redox system, and a photosensitive material (3) are arranged in or between a first (4) and a second electrically conductive layer (5). At least one of the electrically conductive layers (4, 5) is transparent to visible light. The first and the second materials (1, 2) are in electrical contact with each one of the electrically conductive layers (4, 5) and are arranged in electrical contact and inside the layer structure in such a manner that the photosensitive material (3), due to the effect of light, induces a redox reaction Aox + Bred ∊ Ared + Box which can be reversed when the exposure to light is ceased. According to the inventive system, the layer thickness, over which the first (1) and/or the second (2) material(s) extend, is configured such that a charge storage which is sufficient for operating an electrical consumer is made possible. The additional insertion of a catalyst layer which accelerates the back reaction results in a particularly good spatial separation of the direct and back reactions. The inventive system advantageously enables the photovoltaic conversion and storage of electrical energy in a simple layer structure.
